I've been there too. Alcatraz is pretty good. To be honest I enjoyed Port Arthur more.What did you think of Alcatraz?

Couldn't agree more. It is the feeling that you can't describe unless you've physically set foot on the island. I don't mean that in a supernatural ghostly way, more in a manner that the buildings and the island overall has witnessed and absorbed years and years of human emotion and comings and goings and that is reflected throughout. Even though it is now no longer used, it doesn't feel empty.Yes seeing it in pictures and all is one thing and then actually being there is another.
