About a month ago I won free tickets to see N-Trance and Eiffel 65. There was about 60 people there, found out on the night 37 tickets had been sold and the rest were free tickets like mine. There was one girl there with an Eiffel 65 tattoo and was telling me all about their 3rd and 4th album and recorded the whole "concert".

That is sensational.

Still baffled at why He/They (??) are in the line up for Future Music Festival next year. People will completely forget who they are by the time Christmas rolls around. If not, people will go bananas then will try and figure out what they are going to do for the next hour as they don't know the Korean language or know any other songs of theirs.

You have no idea just how big K-pop is amongst the gweilos do you? It's no different to Coldplay (*shudder*) going to Korea and having thousands of people who don't speak English attending.

It's one of those videos where you watch it once, think 'meh', turn it off thinking you'll never watch it again, then later on you end up randomly googling it and you're hooked.

Had it on loop for awhile.

First time I had the misfortune of seeing it I instantly hated it. Now I've mellowed to the point I only want to beat that guy to death with a mallet.

Hate it. Hate it. Hate it.

Having a bunch of Koreans friends as well as learning Korean this year, I've heard of Psy but never really gotten into him (Although I liked his song 'Right Now'). He's well respected in the Kpop industry, and the song was a massive hit in Korea before it became an internet senstation, and then a worldwide sensation.

Must admit I loved the song and played it to death and always willing to do the dance after a few drinks. But I agree that it's gotten a bit overboard in the media, but at the same time I love how much it's blown up.

There was a tour of K-Pop acts earlier this year. I think Girls Generation, Sistar, can't remember who else. I saw footage on SBS and was actually surprised that whilst the majority of the audience was Asian, perhaps 30% wasn't. And here was me thinking that it was only dirty old bastards like me watching SBS to see more Hyuna videos :)

This may be true but it's still Pop. Some people don't listen to pop at all. They listen to like good music.
Can't agree with this mate. There is no such thing as a good or bad genre - there are just good or bad songs. It comes down to two things IMO - the song and the performance. You could quite easily have Britney Spears do a great song - just the performance would suck. Smells Like Teen Spirit was a pop song - it wouldn't have been a bad song if the Backstreet Boys performed it.

Unfortunately most current Pop music is bad songs and bad performances but when someone gets it right, it doesn't matter about the genre.

All IMHO of course :)

I remember back in the 90s someone doing a live cover of Baby One More Time. Something makes me think it was Gomez? Anyway, Triple J played it a bit. It was great despite the alternative crowd like myself thinking the original was terrible. Actually opened my eyes (and ears).
