Hey Saintah thanks for compliment (us umpires not used to these sort of compliments on here ......... well especially me) although your water runner wasn't too happy in the last quarter with me. :) We as umpires still have a lot of work to do in the 2nd half of the season.

Good luck to both teams for the rest of the season

Hey mate, great job by you and your fellow umpires with the new interpretation of the ducking rule. Have seen it umpired very well in the last few weeks.

Bit of chatter about Bucky around the traps on the weekend. everyone has an idea who he is, unwilling to comit.

Chatting to a few from Springers who were on the money though and one bloke vform surfers.

Will he out himself or keep hiding?

I text you his name moro but you dont believe me LOL, im tellin ya its him and his talk of loyalty is hilariuos.

#sunshavetheguns, beware the sleeping giant.

Haha thanks mate. A few roosters said the same guy as you so u might be onto something. If true shame I wont get to play against him. I've only met the guy twice and both Times was doing him a favor. Fat coward

suns looked to have topped up nicely pre june 30 with Jake Ryan and Draz - really is strong surfers flavour there. interesting to see how many game Draz can strong together - body/work/interest hasnt seen him play much the last 3 or so years.

KP didnt surfers and beenleigh formerly have a strong relationship? whats happened there?

The relationship was with Plugger and he's now coaching the Suns.

cheers morro - that certainty makes sense then!

out of curiosity what is the bond uni ground like? is it purpose built for afl or are they using one of the rugby fields? Up until last year they played home games at Robina.

It's pretty big. I rated it.

Thanks for the positive feedback Nut for the Lime Green Team. We're all doing our best with the new interpretation but we also know we have more work to do as a group to ensure we're getting it right more often than not. The way you have written your post it sounds like you have seen me in the past few weeks???

Moro have to say the "lime boys" who did pirates/vikings game did a good job.
Even blocker was fairly subdued....as long as his beloved"pies" keep winning hes a happy man.
He actually joined the "dark side" and goal umpired his sons 14s game......not much movement side to side but his nod of the head, signalling and flag waving was of the highest level.
Look forward to you doing a pirates game..

Hey North, I notice you said Blocker was "Fairly subdued" ..... I would be shocked/worried if he was totally subdued as it's not in his DNA (shout out to ya Blocker). I would love to see the big fella in the goals (would pay money to see him in the middle one day) and as you said not much movement side to side (same as his playing days) but at least he takes the waving seriously.

I'm glad the "Limes" were OK on the week end .......... it does surprise me a bit ......... The young guy is OK but the "old bloke" he umpired with needs work. .... but at least he tried ;) (another big shout out to the "old bloke" I'm referring to )

That's why I put"fairly" ......wouldn't matter if it was one goal or twenty goal loss or win...he would still say the umpires gave us nothing...

Nah no problems. And you know ol' Pea Nut gets around a bit !!!

Well done to Wynnum today for a couple of good games of footy. Both games played in the right spirit. Probably our couple of forwards the only difference.
Got some good young kids the Vikings and play a good running game. Best of luck for rest of season.

Hey Blocker, Yeah they were good hard games both of them. We threw everything but the kitchen sink at your full forward and could not stop him. A lot of heart in our back line but could use a little more height. Our turnovers were disgraceful, just handing you blokes goals. But again well played. Blocker got to get some hot water for the showers if you want blokes to stay back after the game though!!

Just going back to the good old days of Victoria Park for the visitors Mac. Cold showers deluxe for visitors.

Truth be known we only found out that power had been off to them all Friday and most of Saturday morning by work being done at school. Will get it sorted for next home game mate. Hopefully have some news on new facilities shortly so next year might see us at playing everyone at new premises.

I know a few teams have some quality mids but I wouldn't swap our big fella for anyone. He is a quality player. Kicked 17 in 2 weeks but I am sure he will get a good workout this week against the best team in the comp.

Yeah definitely purpose built for AFL. I thought it was pretty good... nice wide ground not as long as some of the others but nonetheles good surface to play on. They must have had a fair bit of rain during the week though cuz one side of the ground was nothing but mud which was a shame.

Settle down you blokes. Bit to much love for the men in line for mine.

I think the umpiring was probably of the better standard we have had this year. Though in saying that always room for improvement. Even brought the old bloke a beer after the game, so must be getting soft in my old days.

Give us a hint lads the curiosity is killing us. Does he play in our comp Morro or your former clubs comp?

The good thing about this forum is that most people know everyone's identity. But there is always a coward that goes to war!!

Got along to see my bond boys play the swans, thinking it would be a 200 point win... Well the first half would have to have been one of bonds biggest challenges of the year. With the swans only down by 1 at half time. Tackling pressure from espically the younger swans was great. However we ran them to pieces in the second half, sharks for prems lads.
Going off a bit early Sharkie? Injuries can stop anyone mate.

Agree Bond are benchmark thus far but I think GM still fancy there chances when they next meet.

Although I admire your loyalty to your side, I wonder if you play? Wouldn't think there would be to many players with balls of steel to come out and start calling premierships already.

Any chance we can stop with the niceties about umpires, teams and grounds and go back the what this forum is about......good old anonymous name calling?

We at the saints are happy to give credit where it's due, and pre that game against roosters we felt as if we were playing against 20 on the field and the weekends game was an awesome change. Feel free to umpire all our games.

Now that we're into the back half of the season and finals slowly approaching, would be interested to know what clubs would seek promotion if they won the flag?
