Now we can add to our weak finals record playing injured players and playing sick players _ Guthrie and Danger shouldn’t be out there and it’s no wonder we are getting pumped around the ball. Guthrie not right all night and if Danger has bug he shouldn’t be playing, he is low energy, fumbling and flat. Bad coaching, bad team selection, even before we started the game

Rohan in to defense is classic finals Scott. Panicky positional shift that either hasn't been seen all season or has barely been seen. See also from previous years: Hendo forward and Kolo to the wing.

I called for this pre season. Rohan as a forward has always been a flash in the pan/downhill skier player.

He’s actually looked really damaging off half back. Defensively suspect but he’s not exactly experienced down there.

We are usually sh*t in finals, that is why you no longer feel confident.
Go back to times we finished top two over the last 5 or so years and you will notice us coming up against inferior competition and being down by 30 or 40+ early on in games.

No way that occurs tonight and you would hope we have learnt a thing or two from last years bitter grand final defeat.

Again, he's not good enough in finals. Next week he gather 30+ but he will drop again the next week. Strange player.

Have always said Duncan is a superior finals performer when comparing both careers.

As bad as we have been tonight, and a lot of players a putrid tonight it kills me to say it but our great champion Danger is simply not a big game finals player. Such a pity for the player he is.

Suspected it for a while. Pretty well confirmed now. Happy for him to prove it wrong over the next 3 weeks but it ain’t happening.

He's worked himself into the match and seems to have freed up Henry to play more of an intercepting role

Problem is that it's breaking down further up the ground

Port have moved the ball quickly to the point of being reckless at times. Long and down the middle from every kick out as an example. However they have done so in the knowledge that speed is our kryptonite and we can’t defend 1 on 1.

The new CEO has to make some hard calls...wonder if he has the guts to do anything about it.

Honestly it would need to be a completely fresh top end, so new CEO and President (which has happened), but also football boss and coaching group.
Those aren't going anywhere so I can't see wholesale changes (which is what's probably needed).
I'd just like to see SOME changes. What does Knights bring? What is scarlo doing with our woeful defenders? Whose our forwards coach and why are they NEVER in the correct positions, or our midfielders ever kick to their advantage?
Why do we always play reactive football instead of frontfoot football forcing our style on the opposition?
All questions that MUST be asked, but wont, cos it'll be another "hey top 4 and finals! Success!!" response from the club, we also might get called selfish supporters again...

We haven't had a ruckman since ottens because our coach doesn't believe in them, that's worked out well.

We finish top 4 every year not to capatalise on the weeks break for our older experienced guys but to s+×t the bed in the first final every year. Good coaching.

We turn blicavs into mr fix it then call on him to be a key defender/ruck when the coaches plan always goes to s+×t.

Had the same coaching panel for years except we freshen it up by bringing in retired players who have played for years under the same crap coach and his style.

Seriously WTF...this club needs a redirect very quickly
