Let’s just all hope teams get injuries back in the second half of the year
Never happens mate.
I think a few more interesting results to come.
Morteon only club who has their position locked away.
Wynumm could lock away second if they win this week.
Ipswich will play finals but probably look at third at this stage.
Kedron have lost a few lately and just snuck home in a couple as well.
Have a buffer at 4th but could lose that quickly if their present form continues.
Moorooka are the most improved club this year.
Both seniors and ressies doing well.
I still think they could Finnish as high as fourth.
Hinterland in same position as moorooka could finish as high as 4th also.
One defenitly will play finals if not both.
Bold statement I know but the second half of the year is certainly throwing up some speculation.

Decent defence as well.
Solid midfield.
That's why they will be red hot favorites.
There beatable but I'm not sure anyone's worked out how to do it.

Only team to beat them this year is Gympie and they play again this weekend. Boy wouldn’t that be a big question mark to answer if they lose to them again.

Good to see them doing well - had a tough few years getting belted in the QFA nth comp, then bottomed out in Div 2 after not being too far away from winning it. Bounced back this season. Obviously a cracking facility but right in RL heartland in the Moreton shire.

Witnessed a qtr of footy were the umpires lost control. Elbows, cheap shots off the ball.
Red card given to someone defending himself after receiving a cheap shot elbow to the head in front of an umpire, elbower was not even spoked to by the umpire.
Umpires both had whistles that must have been defective as they were not blowing them, scarred too it how it looked.
1st qtr looked more like thugby at times than aussie rules, reminded me of 80s Melbourne suburban football.
Bad look, poor officiating.

What game mate.
I've been umpiring ressies for three years and never seen any of that.

Wow, what game was this!?

Up north, seniors
Well if it's in this division very easy to work it out.
I agree with you that some umpires lose control of the games.
It's not hard to see when it's about to turn.
That's when you have to make it very clear that's enough rubbish and get back to footy.
You don't want to be a prick but you have to sort it out straight away.
But we are abused every week from the benches and the players.
So I can see how hard it is to get blokes to do it.
I still think past players make better umpires at this level as they have a feel for what's going on out there.
That's where aflq should be looking for them.

My thoughts exactly outandabout, we don’t want that rubbish at any level.
It takes two to tango but I feel one team was hunting and the other retaliating.
Yes, in this division.

Mate it's not real hard to see cheap shots.
I have a three tier rule.
If it's late
If it's deliberate
If it's head hunting
Your done

The local derby out of control was it Hack?? I heard one of the umpires left at 1/4 time?? (or was he injured?)
Yes smy, the senior umpire (in age and experience) got a leg injury and left the field at qtr time. Delayed the game for a bit until two replacements (1 from each team) could be found. Ended up with 3 field umpires. Interestingly the replacements umpires umpired from their teams forward 50 only (Gympie umpire in Gympies 50 and same with Hinterland), I thought it should have been opposite teams 50 so the marginal calls would not be seen as biased.

Yeah it’s ridiculous having ya own club umpire in ya own 50. Shouldn’t be allowed or tolerated

Sounds like an interesting day for all...

Mate disagree I'm in my clubs forward fifty for two quarters every week.
Once again it's not that hard.
If it's a free kick you pay it no matter who's team it is.
I know some of the boys from my club tell me I'm a bit hard on them at times.
So it can go the other way as well.
My biggest issue is not paying obvious free kicks.
The 50/50s are always contentious no matter where your from.
Must remember were old and slow and sometimes your vision is blocked because it's just scrappy footy.
Not having boundary umpires is a real pleasure as how the hell from 40 meters away can you tell if it's out.
I know I have no idea and throws up a whole new set of problems.
It's just they way it is at times.
But the game goes on and good teams adapt and find a way.
