there’s a crunch on across the system atm.

Expect a review and changes. Clubs deserve the right to fight their way out of trouble but in the case of Gympie it isn’t changing and there are other impacting factors as well.

My tip is the biggest shuffling we have seen in years will happen this off season
I'd be very surprised if AFLQ do anything that drastic. That would require vision and a lot of work and having all your stakeholders on side. lol

One of life’s surreal moments. Tomorrow I represent the Wynnum Vikings AFL club, a club that I have played over 150 senior games for, a club I have represented in two grand finals (lost both unfortunately) as we travel to play the Windsor Zillmere Eagles. The club where I played my very first AFL game, the club where I learnt to play AFL and a club that I also represented in two grand finals (lost both of them as well….maybe it’s me?).
As I run out onto O’Callaghan Park, 35 years later, onto a field where I can still remember hearing my mothers voice yelling at me through the open windows of the clubhouse where she used to sit to watch me. Two clubs that are very much a part of my heart and my love of footy. Two clubs that have gone through tough times but dream of better days. Two clubs that are such a big part of my life and that I am very grateful to.
As I said just one of those very surreal moments in life but you have to love footy! Looking forward to tomorrow.

How is Alex Hills kicking 18 goals in the last quarter. Wow

You'd assume with half the Gympie team in their 8th quarter of footy for the day that the chase might have dropped off a bit. I'm sure the timekeeper would have been forgiven if they 'forgot' to press the stop button a few times 😂😂

Long day for everyone!

I happened to be around the Gympie area yesterday so I thought I’d pop down for a look. The last quarter was definitely one-way traffic but full credit to the Gympie blokes for continuing to turn up and have a crack each week.

I did notice some of the Alex Hills boys wearing long sleeves in the second half, that certainly wouldn’t have happened in my day. It just seemed a bit soft to me in 20 degree weather, despite the rain.

Not sure I’ve ever heard a team that kicks 44 goals in a game called soft.

I know it’s good to have the GF at a club that is in our division so what are options. Looks likely Redcliffe/Alex go deep as well so is Kedron the logical choice or do we try something like Aspley?
If you're just going on someone in our comp then Sandgate has the best facilities with change rooms parking viewing and a quality surface to play on.
Kedron has many advantages but the playing surface is not up to scratch ATM and that should be high on the list to host.
Yeronga might be considered.
Redcliffe is a good choice.
If you go outside our comp then Aspley Grange but I'd say
Moreton will be the one.
Shame you're not at new digs as it would be great.

The swans can host now with our new facilities. I’m biased but they’re pretty good 😉 Field is in good knick and can park around the field still. Doubt we would ever host though!

Nothing wrong with O'Callaghan Park either
