how the hell are you typing and listening to capitalist music on a fat greedy youtube if you have donated all your worldly goods to the poor downtrodden masses and you are living up in a tree eating bugs so as not to harm the planet?

Hey! Don't berate the bugs! They taste good!

Pointing out that the world's wealth disparity is disgusting and that the elite should do more to eliminate extreme poverty does not equal advocating living in a tree eating grubs

"Grubs"?? Where did I mention Essendon in my post?

Everything? Like food and water and access to medicine? :$

Gina Rinehardt was given everything. Did she stop trying? (I really wish she did)

Jazny, you didn't mention water and access to medicine. I'm not talking about getting rid of that sort of social safety net. It's just you can't just through billionaire money at this problem and expect it to work, it never has and never will.

Jazny give your bike to some one who needs it then.

And you speak of Russia as if you know something about the world. A better example would be North Korea. Perhaps you can tell us all how they live.
North Korea is not an example of socialism, it's an insane dictatorship. France, The Netherlands, Sweden - these are examples of socialism, with employment rates far above those of the USA. Police force, fire brigade, public hospitals, roads that aren't tolled - all socialism.

The answer is not capitalism OR socialism, it's a mix of the two, applied judiciously.

I am starting to think that this Bay 13 forum is just a troll site and there is no point in trying to engage in any serious discussion here! :straining:
You're killing them, Jaz.

If I were to hypothetically go cry in a corner for the next hour because the world is full of fat greedy heartless capitalists, what music should I hypothetically listen to? :$

You might find this one more pertinent

My analogy just shows that what I am doing is pointing out an immoral behaviour, and therefore do not need a solution to do so. If you want to argue against what I am saying, you need to show how it is not immoral for a person to live in disgusting luxury whilst people around the world starve through no fault of their own, when the people could easily just redirect portions of their profits in to sustainable projects that would raise the standard of living for those most in need and subsequent generations of people, whilst not having a significant impact on their own comfort or lifestyle. - There is part of the solution.

It all sounds good in theory, but surely you understand that it's not nearly as simple as that? If it was that simple, there'd probably be at least some movement on it already.

Why is Joe Misiti so fat on Afl live 2004?

This made me laugh. I always just assumed that they got him mixed up with Dean Rioli who was regular size in the game.

Many come here only to have semi-serious discussions about football and you're surprised no one wants to tackle the weightiest subjects out there? o_O

Did anyone read the article about a rival AFL league?

Can't see it taking off unless it was played deep into the off-season, and even then it's highly unlikely.

It is that simple and there is plenty of movement. Warren Buffett and Bill and Melinda Gates have given away $25 billion each. Slugs like Gina Reinhart wouldn't give the crumbs out of her neck roll, but plenty do, and Buffett and co are working to get more on board.

But that's the thing, what has their $25billion actually bought?

That's also ignoring the issue that just throwing money at it isn't the entire solution, navigating the political landscape within those places isn't exactly a cakewalk.

I'm sure it's done plenty of good. You can bet Buffett knows where every cent went, and he wouldn't tolerate it being wasted.

I don't doubt it hasn't done good nor that Buffett wouldn't allow it to be wasted. It's just that all that money poured in, yet in the bigger picture hardly a dent has been made in the problem.

Which problem? Poverty? Far fewer people live in poverty or have no access to drinking water than did 20, 30, 50, 100 years ago.

Alarm bells should be ringing in the budgeting department of any business thinking that this concept is a good one to pour their money into. It has failure written all over it.
So does the club you support, but it still exists. :straining:

I think Chelsea FC has learnt this the hard with Fernando Torres and Shevchenko.

Id prefer to have someone shove a Taylor Made SLDR Driver into the eye of my dick (club head end first) than watch the AFL Recruit show this year; but was wondering whether the winner is now associated with an AFL club. Anyone have a clue?
Yeah, he's on Port's rookie list. The Irish guy is an international rookie at Geelong.

Freo is a financial success, so it will always exist.

You could be the Cold Coast any year now and the AFL will simply pull the plug on a failed experiment, like the Western Reds.

If Matthew Priddis's Brownlow is something to go by, Which terrible kicker will win next year's brownlow?
Pav, no one hits the post like Pav...
