I like Horse but I don't trust him to not make the same glaringly obvious mistakes long after they've been proven to be so.
Braedon has been serviceable as a small defender. We might have a glaring need for a small defender in a future game. Would playing him there be a mistake?

Or he’s playing wing/half forward but struggling to have any impact. Would switching him with, say Ollie, be a mistake?

Longmire talks a lot about the value of positional flexibility. I think he has a very good point.

I think if it's a mistake depends on how 'serviceable' one thinks Campbell has been playing in defence.

I personally think 'not very.'

Positional flexibility is still dependent on players actually being able to contribute in the positions they're supposedly flexible in.

(This sounds like we're no longer talking about footy...)

I'm currently re-watching the Bombers game and in the first quarter Adams is the only mid doing anything.

I think we sometimes fall into the trap of thinking that one player got us over the line while everyone else was carried, the way we were talking like Parker, Heeney, Florent etc won us the game. But they all lifted together and when you have a handful of blokes on song it is far more productive than when just one guy is left do to the heavy lifting.

It was the same with the Collingwood game, Rowbottom the lone soldier for a dismal first half then everyone else comes to the party and it's all 'look how they got us the win!'

And I'm not exempting myself from this either as last week I criticised Adams and said I'd drop him.

The whole team is guilty of only showing up in patches here and there. They need to work together as a group to get more than one or two good quarters out of themselves.

Bit discouraging to see Gussy not even make the emergencies again but given the current stage of the season its understandable. Happy to see Cleary starting again, TMac injured or managed? Adams for sub I reckon too.

Exec summary for those who can’t watch the game:

* there’ll be no significant team changes. Nobody will be rested.

* at 1/4 time, Swans 14 points down

* by 3/4 time, Swans 26 points up

* bruise free final quarter, Swans win by 16

* Horse answers every question at the post-match presser by talking about “the contest”
Update:

Previous exec summary still applies, except that T.McCartin will be rested.

Managed, they said it and it’s on the team sheet
