Try a salad of segmented ruby red grapefruit interwoven with cooked beetroot cut into similar sized segments. A little olive oil and a spoon of raita….. so easy, visually appealing, tasty and who knows might be good for us as well.
That does sound appealing but I love grapefruits too much to ever have them any way other than whole and by themselves. Cut in halves, diced and scooped out with the spoon. Then when you're left with just the two halves with nothing but juice in them, you do the skull.

Excuses if we suffer an ignominious loss -

  1. Mt Barker is 340m above sea level. Longmire admits the new HQ lacks specialised hyperbaric and other pressure equipment. Our blokes suffered oxygen deprivation.
  2. How many holes does it take to fill the Albert Hall? Some minstrel once pondered this question but when applied to the Mt Barker goat track, it seemed there was only one giant hole dug by the goats or a white rabbit. Apparently* several players fell down the hole in the first quarter and were not seen for some time.
  3. The disappearing players had a tea party with Mad Hatter Hayward.
  4. When they eventually returned after the bye and were checked over it was clear no short or long term damage was incurred to their health or career. In fact some fanfolk called for immediate raises to their wages and extensions to their contracts.
  5. It was the mushroom risotto, supplied by Mark Ricuitto.

The loss to Richmond has sucked a lot of the excitement out of this board and an easy win over the Eagles followed by a bye won't bring it back. I think the GWS game is the next time we'll see real excitement again.
I wonder if the players realise the impact that results have on fans. A close fought loss to a good team would not but a poor game like that is such a downer. Kills faith.

Remember round 1 2014?

We lost to a team full of 18yr olds its sport shit happens

Sorry to intrude. I was just checking in on this thread for any chat about positions.

But I noticed this, and this is the wrong oval. Mt Barker has a few but you are looking for summit oval for tomorrows game
You Idiot! Sydney going to wrong ground was our one chance of winning.

You guys want to win? Just come hard at us and block up the corridor like Richmond did last week. Then we will bomb it long and the ball will get cut off by McGovern and Barrass. Slingshot out of defence, get a few lucky bounces and calls by umps, breakout game by Reid to announce he's arrived (no better tine then Gather Round) and voila, you have the upset of 2024.

Finally, come back to our board to enjoy the melt down.

Question is, are they still known? Anyone under 40 is probably scratching their head or searching google right now
My grandchildren know what they are! They love telling everyone when they have their galoshes on, thanks to Nanny Jewels 🤗

One issue not discussed is whether Mt Barker is a goat track. GotTheGoodes , do you know the ground?
It's fine as far as I'm aware. Pretty high quality surface for a suburban ground. Was upgraded since last Gather Rd too.

I was there a few years ago so can't comment on recent history but it will be a beautiful setting for a sunny (hopefully) day out at the footy.

Get there early though. Infrastructure not "efficient".
