i am ready to get brought back down to earth next week. we've never beaten adelaide, can't see that changing haha. who do we play round 7? lol
I think this game should be approached as a 'free hit', so to speak. Because we have already secured three wins this season, it's not vital for us to win this one in order to stay in reaching distance of the top 8. If we win, great. If we don't win, focus turns to a far more winnable game against the Bulldogs in Ballarat.

I really believe we need at least one more win before the bye to keep our season alive and I think the Bulldogs & Demons games are our chances to do that.

Great win yesterday Suns, held on well.

I don't think Adelaide will have a huge amount of changes. Hartigan goes out with the hammy, Mackay should be okay to come in from concussion. Sloane and M.Crouch may get another week.

From an outsider's perspective, I'm not sure what Rischitelli brings to the team that Barlow doesn't? It surprises me, and seems the general feel of your board is similar.

Was a big fan of Wigg when he was at the Crows as well and was firmly of the belief he should have made his debut last year at some point. I think he'll be a gun. Noticed 14 disposals, all kicks in a big NEAFL loss over the weekend, not too bad. Would love nothing more to see him get a debut against his old side, he'd have something to prove as well which would no doubt give his initial performance a bigger boost.

Yeah this is not a game where we play our best 22.
I’d be playing guys who are underdone like Ah Chee/Wright in NEAFL rather than rushing them in and resting anyone with niggles and giving the likes of Scheer/Barlow/Spencer a game as they have plenty of football in their legs now.

Send out a match hardened 22 to have a free hit and enjoy the Adelaide atmosphere and treat it as an adventure.

Then the following game it’s all hands on deck and we go into war mode again as a mini GF.

Was celebrating with wayyyy too many fireballs last night.

For Adelaide to do what they did against Sydney on Sydney's home deck, I'm worried. Sydney have been predictable going to Buddy like we are going to Lynch so gonna be a massive game for Lynch as he'll most likely be double teamed all game. Sam Day will have to step up and offer the team something to kick at.

I really like Adelaide's side, they should win the flag this year and even with their injuries they are still scary. Hopefully the lads can pull something out and Lyons can show them what they're missing.

Barlow in, DMac out.

I would rest up anyone with niggles this week and anyone that needs a bit more game time play them in the NEAFL.
Just turn up to the Adelaide game with a 22 with no pressure on them to have a crack.
This is not a “must win”.
Mate, we were saying similar all week leading into the game V sydney as we have a horrible recent record up there and were stacked full of injuries meaning we were up against it - particularly how badly we played V collingwood the week before...and we won. Point is that whilst I would like to think Gold Coast has no chance, that is crap as they have every chance as we don't know which crows team will turn up. The crows will be the hunted this week rather than the hunter and don't bet on Crouch returning or sloane as I think the club will give them another week to make sure they are over their injuries. I would not be surprised if heading into the last 1/4 that the scores are very very close and then it is anyone's game

I don't think there is any chance in it but adelaide can have a bad day too .

Weller move to play mcpheson position , Barlow come in , riztelli come out and debut Ballard in his home state . Time to test out the full pick 2 value last year .

I like the “free swing” mentality that someone else mentioned. We have a crack but we don’t go “all in” at the selection table.
Wrong attitude, and sets a poor culture. You play to win in everything that you do, and I expect a professional sports club does the same thing, we're not sitting top of the table round 22 with a game clear looking to finals, then I would suggest to rest players. But even then they all got a week off anyway prior to finals beginning.
It's a disrespectful attitude to the opposition, and suggestion of "throwing" the game bring's the game itself into disrepute.

Well go back through all the other posts that have said similar this week and be consistent.
We’d be sending a band of brothers Match hardened and ready to have a full on crack. The Barlow’s, the Spencers’s, The Scheer’s will wear the jumper with pride.
Gee I despise being verballed. A free swing is having a crack.
All many of us are saying is we give the likes of Wright/Ah Chee one more week in NEAFL and anyone that could do with a freshen up a week off. It’s not like they aren’t already injured.
The last sentence you wrote is way off the mark. Gee I hate being verballed. That’s angered me that post.

100% We should be going in to every game with that mentality, I hate the idea of saying we are gonna lose this game so lets not take our best team or try. We should go in with our best available 22 every game and be trying to win. Winning breeds a winning culture and that is where our improvement is gonna come from. If this year has shown anything so far is that anyone can beat anyone on any given day.

I’m looking forward immensely to team selection now.

My fault for perhaps misinterpreting and my frame of mind at work today :) do want to get together at the members bar at the first home game and hug it out!

Yeah yeah I’ll be in that, a beer at the game. It’s good to see you are an actual GC resident-so few of us.
In regards to the hug I don’t really like people touching me though. Ever noticed how Robbo constantly touches people on 360?? Bloody annoying is what he is.
Fingers crossed your day at work improves. My job sometimes sucks the life out of me too.

I think a lot of Suns fans would agree with you, but sorry to say that Wigg's performance in the NEAFL was actually better than his stats suggest because he went off injured after playing half the game and was seen leaving the sheds on crutches and wearing a moonboot. Not gonna see him play for a while.

Poor kid! Hopefully he catches a break soon.

As said by others I believe Weller should be moved up forward or on a wing, if you watch his 2016 highlights you can see his speed, forward craft and kicks open the game up on the wing or can kick goals up forward. I wanted to name what i believe the team should line up against the Crows
B: Joyce Thompson Harbrow
HB: Martin May Leslie
C: Fiorini Swallow Weller
HF: Barlow Lynch Young
F: Ainsworth Day Sexton
FOLL: Witts, Lyons, Miller
INT: Holman, Bowes, Rosa, Lonergan
EMER: Spencer, Hall, Brodie, Crossley

IN: Leslie, Barlow
OUT: McPherson (INJ), Rischitelli (omitted)

Think it's already been said but Martin definitely needs to stay back. He is so incredibly talented but works hard too. Goes back there after not playing there for a year or more and already looks like our best half back/spare. Can mark overhead beautifully, makes amazing decisions every time, tackles hard, kicks great off both feet and is just pure class.

Stands out like a sore thumb in our team because while almost the entire team is butchering the ball he just makes the right decision every time. Also has a knack of pulling off risky kicks with precision and getting effective handballs away while being tackled.

Given the fact that our midfield isn't in the top 10 in the comp he will see a lot more of the ball down there too.
