It's 2016. We've had players forced to sit out matches due to crowd wide abuse, literal Neo Nazis unfurling banners at matches, bananas getting tossed at Aboriginal players and them being likened to King Kong, and Muslim players getting labelled terrorists across the fence.

This is true. I took my father to the footy for his first time (He's not a fan) and he made a few comments on Jurrah that made me embarrassed. Luckily no-one was near us to hear it. I told him it was wrong and he apologised. Still, never taking him to the footy again.
