Was casually showering before work, little mate was scoffing down his Fruit Loops. Anyway, little mate comes and asks me if when planes drop bombs, do the bomb drop straight down or do they still go forward a bit. Who writes this kids lines?? 🙃

Operation Chastise was an attack on German dams carried out on 16–17 May 1943 by Royal Air Force No. 617 Squadron, later called the Dam Busters, using a purpose-built "bouncing bomb" developed by Barnes Wallis. The Möhne and Edersee dams were breached, causing catastrophic flooding of the Ruhr valley and of villages in the Eder valley; the Sorpe Dam sustained only minor damage. Two hydroelectric power stations were destroyed and several more damaged. Factories and mines were also damaged and destroyed. An estimated 1,600 civilians – about 600 Germans and 1,000 mainly Soviet forced labourers – died. Despite rapid repairs by the Germans, production did not return to normal until September.

Wallis then devised a 9,000 lb (4,100 kg) bomb in the shape of a cylinder, equivalent to a very large depth charge armed with a hydrostatic fuse, but designed to be given backward spin of 500 rpm. Dropped at 60 ft (18 m) and 240 mph (390 km/h) from the release point, the bomb would skip across the surface of the water before hitting the dam wall. The residual backspin would cause the bomb to submerge, running it down the side of the dam towards its base.

Make sure you stay in his good books - it sounds like he's formulating a surprise for his enemies. I'm getting a Stewie vibe here.

Probably not given the following:
Commissioner Inman Grant said the agency was tracking right wing movements and conspiracy theorists.

"In the wake of the Christchurch atrocity we were given a substantial set of new powers around abhorrent, violent material but also some powers around ISP blocking in the event of an online crisis," she said.

"Many of the events we had to assess in the last year have involved right wing extremism including the Halle terrorist attack that happened on Twitch, El Paso and others.

"We've of course been following things like Q-Anon, the (far-right) Boogaloo movement and some of the right wing extremists here in Australia."
It's probably also worth noting that the story has been widely reported, including in Murdoch media.
I'm a conspiracy theorist and I don't like the idea of being tracked ... obviously ... especially because I just don't buy into manufactured narratives and I don't like the idea of being lumped in with with violent right wing arseholes either.

Who monitors all this stuff? Who decides what crisis will require what information to be locked from the public?

Agreed.

A joint committee was put together last year compromising representatives from the US Dept Of Homeland Security, the FBI, and the US Dept Of Justice, tasked with "analyzing and monitoring domestic terrorist activity".

They found that "white supremacists and other far right-wing extremists are the most significant domestic terrorism threat (currently) facing the United States."

I think in light of that it wouldn't hurt the current administration to do a little more to tackle the issue and, at a bare minimum, use clear and unambiguous messaging when pressed on the subject.
Witha a few spectacular exceptions this has been the case for most of this century and a lot of the 90s.

Who the funk is Pete Evans?

Former Masterchef judge, expert almond activator, unhinged Covid conspiracy theorist.

Here's a recent picture of Pete hard at work debunking the great coronavirus lie.

What does a television chef, or some internet smartarses rebutting Magda Szubanski's political commercialism, and a contrived correlation with "right wing extremism", really tell us about Dan Andrews supporters?

Ha ha what the actual ****? Why would this tell us anything about Dan Andrews's supporters? Or do you think the Commonwealth Office of the eSafety Commissioner is somehow acting on behalf of the Victorian ALP?
It would help if you occasionally read beyond the headline.

Will Biden make it to the election?

"One of Joe Biden’s ways of contrasting himself with President Trump has been to declare the election a battle of Park Avenue values vs. Scranton, Pa., values.

Now we learn that Biden has secretly been playing footsie with China.

The statement Wednesday night asserting that the former vice president was a willing and eager participant in a family scheme to make millions of dollars by partnering with a shady Chinese Communist firm is a singular event in a presidential race already overflowing with drama and intrigue.

The dynamite assertion, believable because it aligns with earlier information we know to be true, came in a statement by Tony Bobulinski, who describes himself as a former partner of Hunter Biden, Joe Biden and Joe’s brother Jim in the China scheme. Bobulinski unloads his bill of accusations in blunt but precise language and detail.

He confirms that he was one of the recipients of the May 13, 2017, email published by The Post eight days ago. That email, from another partner in the group, laid out cash and equity positions and mysteriously included a 10 percent set-aside for “the big guy.”

Sources have said the “big guy” was Joe Biden. In a matter-of-fact manner, Bobulinski states that the “email is genuine” and that the former vice president and the man leading in the 2020 race is indeed “the big guy.”

Good time to introduce him to vectors.
For half a second there I thought you were talking about Spock :-D Then I googled Vectors 🙃

Lemme guess, you can see through this latest Rupert Murdoch inspired covert op with your keen political conspiracy insight?

(which consistently fails to identify the absurdity of democratic politics)
