Just read Seedsman might miss the start of the year, im getting birchall in for whitecross, not sure about Seedsman replacement

Matthew Broadbent is cheaper then Seedsman and he can find the footy for Port Adelaide. Another option is Greg Broughton who is also cheaper then Seedsman and can score too.

Probably playing both RDT and Fantasy this year. Reckon I'll be taking quite a few punts with my Fantasy team

First team looks something like this

Def: Mitchell, Lumumba, Hanley, Simspon, Suckling, Laidler (Howard, Fuller)
Mid: Rockliff, Ziebell, Cotchin, Beams, Murphy, Thomas, Michie, Beams (Polec, Ellis)
Ruck: Lobbe, Sandilands (Longer, Currie)
Fwd: Dangerfield, Martin, Parker, Darling, Caddy, Clark (Kersten, Bock)

About $100k leftover

Savage is really good value in my opinion and as long as he stays fit I'd pencil him in for majority of games. Has been a high point scorer in the past just needs to steer clear of the vests also.

Rich is an expandable player but is also good value. Could get the tag from opposition shut down players but IMO he isn't the only player worthy of a tag in the BL midfield anymore. You can throw Rockliff and Redden into the mix and depending on what happens early Aish may get more attention

I assume this is everyone's round 2 team? As there is zero point in selecting anything other than bottom priced rookies in round 1.

how is it pointless starting with a strong team? your not going to win the 25k scoring nothing in the first round. Unless im missing something?
Huh? I am saying no point in having rookies on the bench who are anything but 115k'ers in the first round as you can just switch them all out come round 2. You know the new rules yea? Round 1 is basically a trial, you have unlimited trades up until the start of round 2. However points for overall count for round 1, so you can save so much on bench rookies and squeeze in another premo.

But then your overall score at the end of the season will be affected majorly because rookies wont score as well, and you may not get the winning prize.

? I don't think you quite understand the new rule buddy. You can completely change your team after round 1. Hence you pick the strongest possible 22 players you can on the field and then pick all the cheapest rookies possible. Come the start of round 2, you then change your team to include all the rookies who you think will actually play. You can get the best possible score for round 1, and then start from scratch round 2.

Any news on Sam Naismith, and his position for the Swans this season?

Same position as he had last year - #1 ruck for the reserves in between injuries

I see where you're coming from, however, the person with the best score at the end will win the prize. And round one is included for your overall score at the end. So if you use rookies in round one, then your overall score can take a hit and you won't have the score that you could of have, had you had a strong line up in round one.

He's talking about on the bench
So instead of having L.McDonald on your DEF bench he means have a 115ker and use the extra 130 k on your field.

Its the obvious strategy

You think Pyke would raise his game because Mumford's now been traded?

I don't see the connection to Naismith, but yes Pyke's hitout numbers in the 2nd half of the year were very high and they'll continue to be very strong next year when he becomes the primary ruckman. He also gets consistent double-figure disposal numbers and kicks goals. Should see a score increase.

What he is saying is that you pick your strongest 22 players on the field who will be playing in round one, then on your bench you put in the cheapest players possible i.e. all $115,200 players. This will allow you to use the money you have saved for picking stronger/more expensive players on the field Then in round 2, with the unlimited trades, you change your team to include rookies that you were originally going to have.

Using these strategy allows you to have extra cash in round 1 to use on more expensive/stronger players so that you can maximise your score in round 1.

Ah ok. That does make sense then. hahaha
Why did they change the rule then to have unlimited trades until round 2?

X Ellis at $135,500 is a steal. Word is he's training hard and is fit as a fiddle and will play round 1. At $135,500 how can you not put him on your bench? Buddy is also a big one, not worth the risk imo

I'm grabbing Ellis for sure.

As for buddy I reckon he's worth the risk for AFL Fantasy with the two trades per week. He had a 100 average for three years before last year. The amount of cash spent on him you'd think he'd be the key forward for swans. Also might be happier at Swans and more settled since he doesn't have to think about contracts.

I just checked his stats to give me an idea of how good he is without Mumford, and he's averaged 85 without him there. And he's durable. And he's improved his average every year by 10-15 points. 90 could be on the cards and he's now in my team.
