Re: Rate my SuperCoach team

I like ur side it seems pretty gud
Waite im not sure about coming back from injury mabye theres a better choice
Ur midfield is strong very little flaws if ur worried bout palmer mabye try teammate S.hill hes bulked up heaps he looks good and about the same price
Rucks are fine mabye fit warnock in ur em. as a back up instead of prato
White dont worry i like the look of him pushed forward alot for the swans and can kick a good goal seems good for his price
Im not sure how many times iv said this but take out b.harvey hes way overpriced and i think there are better choices cheaper than him. bradshaw fine should top score for the swannies great pick

Now my team
Backs:Goddard,Gilbee, Enright,Fisher,Morris,Kennelly
(Sheppard, Maguire)
Mids:Abblett,Black,Cooney,Kerr,S.Hill,Trengrove
(Moribito,K.Lucas)
Rucks:Sandilands,White (Warnock,Cordy)
Forwards:The Pav,Gia,Bradshaw,Jurrah,Dangerfield,Burton,Rohan
(Gumbelton,Tappscott)

And still with 1k in the bank

I think it looks a lot better than it did b4. It would be awesome if anybody would comment on it just to tell me how iv gone:D

Hmmm. Looks alright, backline looks pretty good, not much wrong with it. I'm not sure about Morris, will he pull decent scores?

Mids look alright. Cooney pissed me off last year, but he had quite a low SC year last year. Black is getting on, but I think Brisbane will do well this year, so should be fine. Stephen Hill should have a good year, but not 100 percent sold.

Rucks alright, White may be risk, but for a white price, what else is there to buy?

Risky forward line, Pav and Gia will probably give you good points quite a bit, but the others could vary. All COULD have good years, but some may not deliver to your expectations. I just bought Dangerfield, hoping he has a big year. Burton may be getting on, but will pull big scores occasionally.

Pretty good overall, I guess.

Lets start with this, Jetta has a very small frame and I don't think his body is quite ready for AFL and he won't play many games, maybe a player like Dennis Lane or Tapscott would be better. Like the look of you midfield except are you sure about Foley? Surely there would be someone better for that price range. A point of difference if you really have faith he will make money but... Ballantyne and Warren both starting in the forward line is worrying and I'm not sure about harvey either. Perhaps Buddy a better option than Harvey, will make money but more importantly could easily be a keeper. I like Harbrow showed some good things last year and could average 90 this year. McLeod is a worry to getting a bit old and one of Hunt or Ladson will save money and be a better option. I like Gardiner, cold well work out as saints no.1 ruck and rest forward. Not sure about Guerra but I don't know much, smokey? Not sure about Scotty Thompson but again a point of difference and a proven scorer.

Re: Rate my SuperCoach team

Arghhhhhhhh, I had a HUGE write-up for this team, and lost it due to stupid log-in failure. In condense form...(as a second year SC player, so I may/may not be on the money.)

- May be worth having your big midfield guns playing in defence/attack and replacing them with top-notch premiums to "beef up" those areas - you could always swap them into the midfield by trading in a Didak/Davis type later on
- Hurley may be suspended due to his off-field issues, and Hall is a risk on-field
- Downgrade Nic Nat and use that money on a premium ruck, too much money on the bench there
- Download down of Hurley, Mayne, or Jurrah, and buy a premium forward (or close to it) - again, too much money wasted on the bench
- 2nd year players rarely improve on their 1st year - look closely at the likes of Suban, Jurrah, Nic Nat, Hogan (I think?) and Hurley in the NAB Cup
- Sheppard may not get a big enough run this year to be a 7th defender - look for a Matty Maguire sort who will likely be a regular on field.

Thanks a lot. I've read through your ideas a few times and have made some changes. I've also tried to add Ablett (I notice that you didn't mention his absence...no big deal not having him?), which has caused same major shaking up. Jurrah, on the other hand - deleted him, didn't think twice.

Guys like Rohan, Sheppard, Davies, I'll wait until the NAB cup to make a final decision.

I'm resistant to remove Nick Naitanui - I really think he'll do well this season. I've deleted Hogan (By the way, he's a 4th or 5th year player, just never really cracked it at Geelong - understandable given their list).

I will post an updated team when I have filled some gaps and you might be able to let me know if it's any better.

Re: Rate my SuperCoach team

I decided to change my strategy abit this year, with my logic being that it seemed much easier in the midfield to pick both mid-tier and first year players who will appreciate. I figure if my initial picks are wrong then it'll be easier to trade for better players in that section of the ground as well as theres much more choice there. As a result, I'm pretty much expecting my mifield to get canned but I can live with that. Figure I've still got the same amount of rookies and premiums starting as anybody else. Here Goes:

DEF: Goddard, Enright, Fisher, Gilbee, Harbrow, Macdonald, Henderson, Shepard, Trengove
MID: Cooney, Ward, Swift, Hill, Trengove, Martin, Shuey, Bastinac
RUC: Sandilands, Jolly, Warnock, Lobbe
FOR: Riewoldt, O'Keefe, Harvey, Sylvia, Gray, Mayne, Davis, Dennis-Lane, Tapscott

Goddard will in all likelihood be my captain most weeks, maybe Riewoldt. Of course, my side will almost certainly look nothing like this come round one.

Re: Rate my SuperCoach team

Massive risk fuzzy, mids are where the main point scorers usually are.

My 2nd attempt:

DEF: Enright, Gilbert, Hodge, Gilbee, Hunt, Ladson, Greenwood, Davis, Weston

MID: Ablett, Pavlich, Vince, Burgoyne, Masten, Martin, Morabito, Bastinac

RUCK: Kruezer, Hille, Warnock, Lobbe

FWD: Goodes, Riewoldt, Tippett, Waite, Murphy, Dangerfield, Mayne, Tarrant, Panos

Struggled with low-mid forwards Mayne vs Burton vs Polkinghorne it came to. Thoughts??

Hi - took this from the DreamTeam board. I had Rohan in my first side, but am second guessing now.....

some dude from the DT board said:

Whilst the future is promising, it is unlikely that in 2010 we will see much of Rohan. Roos has already stated that this is the case, leaning towards other draftees who have already proven themselves against more mature bodies (Jetta, TDL, etc), with also a host of middle teir/depth players (Moore, Bevan, Barlow, O'Dwyer) who have had a few years in the system able to fill for the swans if need be.

Good side. Watch the NAB for your rookies, Panos won't even get a game for us in that let alone through the year. Think about downgrading Burgoyne/Masten to Trengove, you will miss easy money without him IMO and will be able to upgrade someone else with the savings

Re: Rate my SuperCoach team

My new side looks like this:

BACK - Goodard, Enright, Hodge, Kennelly, Gilbee, Hunt, Sheppard (Davis, Davies)

MID - Sewell, Selwood, Gibbs, Vince, Trengove, Martin (Bastinac, Bleese)

RUCK - Kruezer, Tippett (Lobbe, McNamara)

FWD - Riewoldt, ROK, Franklin, Sylvia, Waite, Ziebell, Dennis-Lane (Tapscott, Podsiadly)

I'm personally running without Ablett this season, but it's really a 50/50 call - just depends whether you think his bubble is finally going to burst or not. For my money, I decided to go for a more even spread in the midfield.

Of course, keep an eye on the NAB cup - I'll be doing very much the same.

And that's a fair call on Nic Nat, but if you're really, REALLY keen on him, start him on the ground and downgrade another of your rucks - it'll free up Ablett levels of cash. And cheers for the Hogan correction :p

Also, for ANYONE with Dalziell in their side - I see no reason to not go for Masten instead - same price, same side, much, much, MUCH more upside.

Anyway, I posted my team a while back and didn't cop any replies - if someone could give me some pointers/suggestions/comments in general, that would be great - I'll, in turn, help out where I can! :)

Defenders - Goddard, Enright, Hodge, Adcock, Henderson, Ladson, Waters (Trengove (Port), Webberley)

Midfielders - Pendlebury, Selwood (Cats), Watson, Vince, Trengove (Melb), Martin (Shuey, Bastinac)

Rucks - Sandilands, Hille (Roughead, Lobbe)

Forwards - Riewoldt, Brown, LeCras, Tippett, Rioli, Dangerfield, Wonaeamirri (Dennis-Lane, Tapscott)

73k in the bank.

Queries...

- Is Goddard overpriced, or is it reasonable to expect similiar or higher scores from him next year?
- Is Waters likely to be available for round 1, and would be make the best 22?
- Is my forward line one premium short, and if so, who should I shuffle out and into it?
- Is Wona ready to go for Round 1, and if not, is there a suitable replacement around his price?
- Finally, are my bench picks likely to see game time?

Re: Rate my SuperCoach team

Ok... here we go......

My effort this far..

Backs;
Enright, Ladson, Hodge, Hunt, Hayden, Gram, Shepheard (WCE)
EMG: Shepheard (Freo), Davis

Mids;
Ablett, Vince, Pendlebury, Selwood J, Priddis, Martin
EMG: Lucas, Jetta L

Rucks;
Ottens, White
EMG: Warnock, Bellchambers

Fwds;
ROK, Buddy, Roo, LeCras, Tippett, Woenamarri, Playfair
EMG: Trent-Lane, Tapscott.

$80k in the bank.

Guys underlined are my rookies and their position will depend upon NAB cup form and them actually being selected!!! Same for the emergencies. Pretty happy to trade them for other equal value players.

Kept $80k as a contingency before any final changes before starting.

Backs are a bit weak but I'm looking to get more points from my fwds & mids anyway. Rucks I'm thinking Ottens is way under valued and White could go huge this year.

Anyway, thoughts?

I think Goddard is overpriced. Could have him but chose not to.

Wonna will be in everyone's team I reckon.

Don't worry about your bench, sort them out the week before rd 1.

Rioli might be injured so watch that.

You have two rookies starting in the midfield.... I wouldn't.

Re: Rate my SuperCoach team

My new side looks like this:

BACK - Goodard, Enright, Hodge, Kennelly, Gilbee, Hunt, Sheppard (Davis, Davies)

MID - Sewell, Selwood, Gibbs, Vince, Trengove, Martin (Bastinac, Bleese)

RUCK - Kruezer, Tippett (Lobbe, McNamara)

FWD - Riewoldt, ROK, Franklin, Sylvia, Waite, Ziebell, Dennis-Lane (Tapscott, Podsiadly)

$ 51 300 remaining

Thoughts?

Midfield seems particularly weak. No Ablett, None of the saints players, No Pendlebury or Swan??? Seems like you've overlooked the top 6 mids??? rest is OK.

For 80K left, it looks pretty cool. Playfair sorta seems like a dud to me, maybe Gumbleton would be better, but he could fire for all I know.

Backs are sorta risky, with Ladson, Hunt and Hayden. Mids are good, dunno about rucks though. Ottens and White are both risks, not ones I would take.

Forwards are alright, nothing bad to say.

Onto my team.

DEF: Goddard, Enright, Hodge, Kennelly, Waite, Hunt, Sheppard
RES: Maguire, Davis

MID: Ablett, Ryan O'Keefe, Gibbs, Vince, Trengove, Martin
RES: Lucas, Bastinac

RUCK: Hille, Tippett
RES: Warnock, Jackson Trengove

FWD: Riewoldt, Pavlich, Fevola, Harvey, Murphy, Dangerfield, Gumbleton (if he is alright)
RES: Dennis-Lane, Tapscott

Looking solid to me, but opinions necessary.

Ok... I'll say it again.. two rookies starting in the midfield????

Gumbleton - Out for rd 1... I'd say the danger signs are there already. (That's why I went with Playfair).

I'm right off Pav this year. Just can't see him making it. I have ROK fwd and then you could go NDS or alike.

Like Harvey as a fwd but age is the concern there. I tried to keep to players 29 or below. I'd prefer Brown over Fev in the fwd line.

How much coin left?
