Pretty good team here mate.

Get rid of Hayes. Won't be in the top 10 mids, and will struggle to average over 100, just not worth it.

Get Dustin Martin out of the mids and into the forward line.

I think Sandilands will be surpassed by Mumford/Leuen this year, and historically is known to miss games.

Ditch Nick Riewoldt. But you've got a good basis here, I think you'll do well.

Hi guys, this is my first year in supercoach and I can already see myself spending many hours at it. Any feedback on my team would be appreciated.

Anyone care to explain the lack of love of Nick Roo for me?
Because he's nowhere near the player he once was.
Struggles to win a contested mark, always winging about frees, can't kick for goal.

Won't be in the top 10 (probably not even top 25) forwards this year, cbf wasting $472k on a player you're just going to get rid of anyway when he inevitably underperforms.

Supercoach has gone past forwards like Roo and Browny, and leaning more towards the more adaptable agile forwards who also accumulate possessions as well as kick goals (Martin/Fyfe/Pav).

Very nice team mate, only change I would make would be out one of your defence rookies and in Brandon Ellis. Other than that I can't spot any weaknesses

So I think my team is starting to take shape:

DEFENCE: Goddard - Deledio - Shaw - Birchall - Hargrave - Clarke - Ellis
Bench: Bugg - Morris

MIDFIELD: Ablett - Murphy - Mitchell - Selwood - Shiel - Neale
Bench: Mcdonald - Brown

RUCK: McCevoy - Giles
Bench: Witts - Stephenson

FORWARDS: Franklin - Pavlich - Chapman - Martin - Brown - Saad - Smedts
Bench: Kerridge - Zorko

Thoughts appreciated guys.

Cheers

Hey,
Chucked this team together relatively quickly and I'm not happy with it but would love to hear any thoughts:
Backs: Goddard Deledio Fisher Hurn Burgoyne Blee Ellis - Bugg Mohr
Mids: Ablett J. Selwood Hayes Aa. Davey K. Jack Coniglio - J. Mcdonald Zorko
Rucks: Sandilands McEvoy - Stephenson Rowe
Forward: T. Cloke N. Riewoldt Dangerfield M. Clark S. Reid Saad Treloar - Cameron Kerridge

Cheers

Surprised no one has replied to this team. Personally, I think it's fantastic! Grimes in defence is a risk (see the herald sun site today - I think there's an article about him injuring his shoulder at training.)
Also prefer others to K Stevens and S Gibson as rookies in the midfield, but that's just me.

Definitely go with Scotland, Selwood & Coniglio, because you get two premiums to keep for the whole year, and Selwood isn't so far off Pendlebury to make having the one keeper worth more than the two if that makes sense.

Hypothetically:
Selwood - 115
Scotland - 100
Coniglio - 75
(290)

or

Pendlebury - 125
Lucas - 80
Hanley - 80
(285)

You'll also save having to make the two trades of Lucas and Hanley and will be able to make it somewhere else.

Heard Selwood interview on the radio this morning and he reckons he will miss two or three during the year to keep fresh for the big dance later in the year. Might be worth considering and noting with any other cats you contemplate putting in your side?

Scotland, I don't know why but I just can't convince myself this old stoog is worth the risk for the coin.

DEFS;
Goddard, is apparently covered in rust so he may be a better upgrade mid year?
Deledio, struggling with some 'mystery hamstring lower back' injury so keep that in mind
Burgoyne, nup there are better choices out there

MIDS;
Hayes, IMO he is way overpriced for a fair risk. Unless he really fires from rnd 1 you could make 50k in the first half of the year
Davey, interesting but not on my radar
Coniglio; some cheaper 1st year players avail which will free up some coin to upgrade Hayes to a gun

Rucks;
Don't know how the big Sandi will go and with Lyon over there now who knows what will happen with Sandi to keep him fresh for later in the year?

FWDS;
Have you heard of a bloke named Franklin?
Can't see too much to excite me in that list of fwds

best of luck:thumbsu:

I get exactly the same feeling with Scotland. Every year I think, he cant go round again, but he does. Looked really good in the NAB cup so maybe he has another year in him.

Backs are generally pretty good. Maybe get rid of either Hurn or Burgoyne and put a rookie in his place to use the cash elsewhere, because there are maybe a few too many mid-pricers there.

Mids are good, but you might want another premium in there. Take out either Jack, Davey or Hayes and downgrade to a rookie, and upgrade of the other midfielders (eg. downgrade Davey to Shiel, upgrade Jack to a premium, leave Hayes, Ablett and Selwood etc.)

Rucks are fine - except OUT Rowe, IN Giles. Rowe is injured.

Forwards are your weak point. From the money you have left over if you follow what I said above ^^ I'd probably get rid of Dangerfield, Riewoldt, Clark and Reid. If you can, try and have at least 3 or 4 premiums (you already have Cloke, so thats good), 1 or 2 mid-pricers, and 5 rookies (2 on, 3 off)

Great team. If you could somehow free up some cash for at least one premium ruckman though it could be that little bit better. But no real weaknesses other than that.

I'm taking a bit of a risk this year with mine, using the theory that it's better to have more rookies in the midfield- rather than across all areas- as rookies generally score higher in the midfield and are selected more consistently.

Backs: Goddard, Broughton, Birchall, Yarran, Trengove, Drummond, Lake, (Docherty, Brown)

Mids: Ablett, Lucas, Caddy, Wingard, Clifton, Magner, (Ledger, Gibson)

Rucks: Mumford, McEvoy, (Giles, Stephenson)

Forwards: Franklin, Goodes, Chapman, Martin, N Riewoldt, Winderlich, Siposs, (Hampton, Hall)

Loves the idea of lucas but i see others making me more cash, same reason i dogged Coniglio, some other rookie can make me an extra 100k that i have to fork out.

Boys just wondering who you guys would take. Dangerfield or Ballantyne? why?

I would say Dangerfield if you can afford him. Only because I'm not too sure how Ballantyne will go under Ross Lyon's new game plan. If he slows down the game a bit and makes it more congested then it may not suit Ballantyne. And Dangerfield is surely due to come good....
