Opinions please,

Goddard-Deledio-Shaw-Enright-Hargrave-Bugg-Docherty
(Webberley, Smedts)

Ablett-Swan-Murphy-Boyd-Pfeiffer-Hampton
(Neale, Brown)

McEvoy-Giles
(Derickx, Stephenson)

Franklin-Johnson-Pavlich-Martin-Butcher-Skinner-Weedon
(Saad, Treloar)

$29,300 remaining,
Bate, Butcher or Rohan?
Boyd, Selwood or Priddis?
McEvoy or Berger?

Thanks in advance :D

I like the Hargrave pick - seems a lot of people are jumping on him, me for one also :)

I'd probably pick Chapman over Johnson if I had to stick with a Geelong player, uninterrupted preseason and he still averaged well last year with a shotty presesason and niggles the whole way. He has come out and said he wants to kick butt in 2012 so he may be one to consider.

I'd take Selwood over the other two, still young and turned it on in the NAB cup. Could take it to another level this year.

I'd take the Berger over McEvoy.

Here's my 3rd draft:

Backs:
Goddard, Scotland, Deledio
Birchall, Hargrave, M.Clarke, B.Ellis [T.Bugg, B.Wilkes]

Mids:
Ablett, Selwood, T.Mitchell
Thompson, R.Gray, McDonald [D.Shiel, J.Allen]

Rucks:
Mumford, Kreuzer [J.Giles, O.Stephensen]

Forwards:
Franklin, Fyfe, Chapman, B.Smedts
Martin, D.Pfeiffer, A.Saad [D.Smith, D.Zorko]

Any recommendations?

I'm not entirely convinced on the midfield with Gray as the 4th "prem" it could be a bit light on here. Thoughts?

Should I cut out Hargrave and upgrade Gray to maybe Boyd?

handy i would keep only one of hargrave or clarke and dgrade to a rookie. i would then use the extra cash to upgrade Gray to another prem.

My team as it stands:

Goddard, Deledio, Shaw, Birchall, Clarke, Ellis, Mohr (2 rookies tbc)

Gaj, Murphy, Watson, Selwood, Grigg, Ross (2 rookies tbc)

Mumford, Leunberger (Longer, Stephenson)

Buddy, Fyfe, Martin, Zaha, Smedts, Saad, Kerridge (2 rookies tbc)

Ive gone for 4 mid prems, big $ in ruck with guns and rookies. Only clarke is my mid pricer and a cheap one at that.......

What do people think about my balance???? risk vs reward?

Here's what I have at the moment:

Backs: Goddard, Deledio, Shaw, Birchall, Tomlinson, Spurr, Bugg. (Morris, Wilkes).

Mids: Ablett, Dal Santo, Selwood, Thompson, Wingard, Morabito. (McDonald, Magner).

Rucks: Mumford, Giles. (Stephenson, Derickx).

Forwards: Franklin, Goodes, Fyfe, Martin, Porplyzia, Pfeiffer, Kerridge. (Smedts, Rowe).

$154,600 in the bank I would rather spend more of now. Not sure on Porp and Morabito. Alot of rookie risks too.

Thoughts?

Way too many rookies on the field. Some of those there have less than assured JS. Could easily see you getting 2-3 donuts in R2. Especially in your backline

Rowe - no. Injured too

Morabito quad. Blokes coming back from a knee often have hammy and muscle issues. Avoid for now

Consider taking out a couple of premiums (Goodes and/or Dusty given our start) and spreading it around

Fwd rookies are weak. Little JS with not great past scoring history

Longer makes little sense.

Tom Mitchell injured. No

Hargrave had one good year

Is Kreuzer really going to be a super-premium? Warnock hasn't died you know.

Definitely ditch Gray for Boyd. Gray will burn you, Boyd is great and Dogs have a nice first 8 games when you can really set up your season

thanks, im not too worried about my rookies and bench for now until at least end of the nab and when js is more known....

at this stage im thinking more about my mix of prems in all my lines.

Mids are :thumbsu:
Rucks
Gorringe great pod, you sort of have to get giles over redden!
Forwards
unsure on pheiffer, smedts may not get a game. maybe look at skinner, kerridge:D

Hey spent a good 120 hours so far, this is were it has got me lol - require assistance:eek:

B: Goddard, Suckling, Broughton, Yarran, Howard, M Clarke, Ellis. Bugg, Wilkes.
M: Ablett, Cotchin, Murphy, Hayes, Ledger, Wingard. Magner, Neale.
R: McEvoy, Giles. Rowe, Stephenson.
F: Franklin, Martin, Fyfe, Beams, J. Riewoldt, Siposs, Motlop. Kerridge, Skinner.

A few questions I’m struggling with and would greatly appreciate help on;

• Will Riewoldt, Hayes and/or Yarran go premium?
• Will Motlop explode?
• Skinner, Saad or someone else?
• Magner or James McDonald?
• Is Rowe injured?
• Should I abandon risky approach and go for 2nd ruck?
- If so, who should I downgrade? (don’t say Siposs…haha)

Cheers

- I'll be stunned if Hayes doesn't go premium, on the proviso he can go injury free which is the big risk.

- I was very tempted to go with Motlop. Simply a matter of how much he will go up by. Very worthy pick.

- Saad

- Both. Jimmy Magner will be the steal of the year, and Junior will only play a handful of games (can't recall the exact number they were talking about) but I'm expecting most of them to come at the beginning of the season. If I had to pick between the two....maybe Junior. Less risky.

- I think not going 2nd ruck is too risky. As far as downgrades I'd honestly reconsider Fyfe. Gun and a half, but don't expect he'll be seeing as much of it with Barlow, Mundy and Morabito back (and Ballantyne reportedly set to rotate through the midfield).

Hope this helps somewhat.

Here's mine for any advice (yes, I've gone campaigner):

B: Goddard, Deledio, Broughton, Heppell, Hargrave, Hunt, Ellis (Smedts, Brown)

M: Ablett, Murphy, Selwood, Pavlich, Hayes, Shiel (McDonald, Magner)

R: Leuenberger, Kreuzer (Giles, Stephenson)

F: Franklin, Martin, Ballantyne, Christensen, Porplyzia, Pfieffer, Saad, (Cooyou, Walsh)

Changed it about 20 times but reasonably happy, acknowledging the risks of Hayes, Porpoise and campaigner.

Cheers.

Most teams are now starting to take shape and looking good.
Anyone have any suggestions at all for mine???

Scottland, Shaw, Fisher, Birchall, Dempsey, Ellis, Brennan, (Brown, Lockyer).

Ablett, Murphy, Boyd, Swallow, Wingard, Hogan, (Neale, Magner).

Leunenberger, Giles, Reddan, Stephenson.

Franklin, Goodes, Fyfe, Martin, Siposs, Skinner, Weedon, (Kerridge, Hall).

$117,800 leftover.

I doubt Hayes will go super-premium. 32, off another knee and surely will have soft tissue, hammy issues along the way. Not a gift at his price either

Not going near Porp. Walsh will get a good run but an awful debut. Change selwood to Rockliff. Joel is a supergun, but will miss 2-3 plus the bye

Brown has never been much of a scorer. Better bench option is Mohr.

Need clarification on Broughton's role. Would prefer Birchall

Very exposed to players with recent shocking injury history. That includes Kreuzer

Hey everyone, long time reader :)

What does everyone think of my team? Played it casually last year, but in a work comp this year so need to do well :thumbsu:

Still not quite happy with the forward line, any tips? Should i cut some money from mid/defence?

Now this is not too bad at all. But, don't like Rowe. Playing this weekend but bigger all expected time in the real stuff. Prefer others to saad. Rookie mid DPP would be handy

Saints have a nice start but Roo will be rested for 2-3 games even if fine. Jack

Turf Hayes for Lucas. Magnet just played the most important games of his life. Let's see how he backs it up

Ditto for Neale

Good. Not sure Matty Dea will score enough to make his non-rookie price worth it, but he should play heaps and we have high hopes

Walsh? Let's see. Prefer others

Smedts, Smith and Saad have dubious JS. Cannot have them all starting.

X Man instead of Rowe. Saw Tom at training and he is playing FF. can catch them too.

Like the Webberly idea. Not sure if I have the guys but early signs remind me of Foley a few years ago

I can't have Ballantyne. Though I recognize that it may prove inspired

Move Fyfe to the fwds and see how it looks. Consider flicking Ballantyne in fwds for Gaff in mid as a result

Leave it for a fortnight.

Rucks may be an issue, best to go with 2 premiums?

Forwards look ok, ballantyne is an interesting one, not many teams have picked him but freo have publicly said he will rotate through the midfield so may be a worthy pick

Here is my team, fire away everyone, i think i am settled now after a heaps of changes but obviously rookieswill be subject to NAB cup performances. Apart from the obvious guys, GWS are all a bit unknown but we will wait and see.
I normally go with Prems and Rookies only but i think the likes of Davis, Reid, Lucas and Butcher will reward this year. big years ahead for all 4 if can stay injury free. I also know Wingard is an expensive rookie but from all reports definitely worth it!

Mumford will be the best ruckmen for his around the ground work, just needs to stay on the park, no suspensions

BACKS: Goddard, Deledio, H Shaw, Enright, Davis, Smedts, Darley
(Wilkes, Lockyer)

MIDS: Ablett, Swan, Murphy, Hayes, Lucas, Wingard

Let me know any feedback

Give me a break, this is only my second year and i need to start somewhere, thanks for the very constructive critism, not.

Thoughts???

Went with a few speculative and unique picks but i figure you need to take risks to make a seriously good team!!
