Forwards are my main concern at the moment & probably trim down a defender & mid to gain some more cash for a better forward structure?

1st shot at making a Dream Team so see how I go

This is my first year of having a proper go at DT (i.e not joining half way through the year.

Downgrade your bench players to 90kish players, look at some other teams to see decent rookies also i wouldnt start 2 expensive rucks, i would downgrade cox to a kruezer or tippet. That could save you 500k+ just doing that. Your better off to start rookies in the midfield then forwards. Full backs aren't good dreamteamers. Just a few tips to help you out for ur first time.

Well I'm not much of a fan of posting my team up here....But if you need help for DT then just have a look through some threads about players, and also have a look at previous threads on the DT board as some of them give great advice. You will need to look around and pay attention quite a fair bit.

Hand me those Toyota keys!!!!! Hahaha...just kidding. Have listened to the various BF experts and taken every ounce of advice on board with the exception of Gumbleton.

Got rid of sheppard and have now got a slightly more even/stronger bunch of backs who should all play regular footy.

Seriously...a big thanks to all who have assisted, and hope Ive helped with my comments on other peoples teams too.

It's different.

Baker is a nice choice imo cheap and can get big scores.

You should probably take out Masten and put Martin in then you can upgrade Warnock.

you should've given him Matty Stokes.

Backs: Ladson most likely won't play round one, he might be a little bit of overkill for your bench. JMac might need to play more defensively at Melbourne. will Silvagni play early?

Mids: All good. Most people are going Trengove n Martin. You could throw a blanket over those two + Scully and Morabito, no one really knows who will score the most or play the most early games (especially without seeing the NAB cup) so to me it's a toss up. there's no right or wrong answer.

Rucks: Fine.

Forwards: I don't like Lobbe on the bench. to me he's just a cheap Ruck bench. i don't think he will score well. TDL on the field is pretty risky. Mayne is a decent choice, but you have to weigh up his upside versus Ziebell and Dangerfield.

no, but when i did it made choosing him look even worse. 263k? for a guy who gets defensive jobs each week? and played 24 games last year averaging 60. next.

There will always be someone that finds fault, i.e Ablett too expensive to start, Hille injury concerns, Suban, etc, but that is the best team I've seen posted. I remember seeing yours and it's right up there. What I like about yours and the one I referred to is the amount of keepers you have from the start. The best teams start out with about 13-15 keepers and you're also in that range.

I wouldn't have Gumbleton, which is the only real knock on your team. But of course I could be wrong.

Trades are such a premium that you really need at least 13-14 keepers from the beginning, imo.

Good team. Only picks i am not keen on is Burgoyne, tbh i don't see him improving past his best imo. Also starting gumby is a bit of a risk. (although im taking similar risks )

Xisor, only nitpicking but I think you could easily turn Sheppard in to someone like Hunt who is much more likely to play more games and score better when he does.

I also don't think Burgoyne is worth going for early. He'll likely start slow with an apparently interrupted pre-season. I think there are better options.

No Name, in your fwds I really think Thomas is a reach at that price.

I feel the same about Hayes in the mids too.

Thats what makes this whole thing fun/infuriating though. There are 1000 correct answers to the same question.
