Have got rid of fwd starting rookie....but makes backline slightly weaker, but will monitor broadbent and sheppard in NAB.

This team would be a good match against Janus

Shit the teams being posted are starting to become all so so similar. I hope people realise your team needs your own input too, can't copy everyone else's like sheep (take the guy who has Jay Shit in his team:D).

Get Schulz the **** out of there is the first thing that comes to mind.

:D

I was just waiting for someone to say that...swapped him for Polkinghorne. Better?

Redid my team - comments would be appreciated. Got 50k or so left over.

Nice midfield but i think you're backs and forwards are a bit risky

And now for something completely different... i give you

Team Awesome (aka Team Smokies... these guys are HOT for 2010 all set to improve by $100K):

the strategy...

-fill a team with unique players in every position
-use up the salaray cap
-don't get rookies cause they suck and never play 22 games except for the odd exception
-set Barry Hall as captain

WIN THE ENTIRE COMPETITION

I can't wait to drive off in the car and make all your copy+paste teams fail.

Very good team EXCEPT for your backline. Backs 4-7 are too weak.

A nice mix of Gun/potential keepers 'ABH', I think, like so many other DTeamers this year, the NAB cup will validate or commiserate your picks, Guns look fine just make sure you like what you see from the potential keepers during the NAB Cup and your team should be solid. :thumbsu:

Nice work Bluetiger, once again pretty solid team and if last years winner is anything to go by then a solid team is really all you need to start.

I personally have stayed away from O'Keefe simple because I thought of no other player that would be worthy of a hard tag besides O'Keefe he's a gun for sure.

This being said he's apparently had a great pre-season and the fitness coaches have drilled the Syd boys this year. I wouldn't be surprised if he still managed to break the tag.

I lost a bit of interest in Hayes when the 'rumour' of stress fractures was about but he who dares wins. I would be watching Broadbent during the NAB but it matters little as there are a couple of other players around his price that could easily fill the gap.

Nice work

You would think with 33K left over you could squeeze Presti in somewhere to improve your team:D

:D

Yeah, better. Although if you're set on a Port player you could always go with Salter. He got a big discount.

Oh, and lulz at the guy who picked Rodan. If you're going to pick uniques, at least pick some who didn't just have a knee reco.

Ok my SECOND try. I think its looking good but my Rucks are the only thing im not sure about....and Gumblebum

*Image*

also only 10k left :(

Interesting structure with 1 midfield rookie only and Pavlich in the mids.

Player selection wise they all have a case, I'm not too sure personally on Cooney/Harbrow/Gilbee, especially for DT. But the team itself isn't too bad. :thumbsu:

Looks good, some points you may want to consider:

1. You have far too much cash sitting in your mids. Cooney and Boak are nice choices that should improve on their averages from 09. I am guessing you have Pav for DP consideration for Higgins and Dangerfield. So I would move on one of your guns in Gibbs and Selwood. May be grab a mid pricer to free up cash to bolster your backs/forwards. Which leads me to my next point:

2. Sheppard is not assured games and back rookie depth is ordinary at best. You probably wont have cover should he be omitted. By freeing up cash in the midfield you can upgrade Sheppard to a back priced between 150k-250k, of which I think there are a few options (keep ur eye on the NAB)

3. There is a lot of value in the high end of the back line (i.e. 300k-400k). Do you really need Goo? As long as you utilise the cash you make from downgrading Goo and find even the smallest amount of value then you will be better off in my opinion.

As you say, the gumby situation is an interesting one, but will become more clear once we get into the NAB.

Hope that wasn't harsh but rather gave you a different point of view.:footy:

This is what I've entered so far:

Just changed Gumbleton out after the screen shot so excuse him. Might have to make a midfield upgrade but I'm happy with it for now.

The team was a joke.

Just demonstrating that it is possible to post ridiculously bad teams that consume the salary cap vs. what's being generally put on here to balance out the "oh all your team's are fail" comments.

Good effort GrandBlue,

I would watch Mcpharlin in the NAB they said that it has been one of his best pre-seasons to date. I cant remember if they said his role was changing this year so best be sure and watch this week's game.

Rioli has been scaled down in his training and rumour of OP are frequent however he did play in the intra club match and his pre-season has been very good so they may very well just be rumours and they are simply taking care of him.

Morabito was not known as a major ball magnet in the TAC however his size and skills dictate that he should recieve game time and depending on the role he is given he should play a fair few games.

I have heard very little about Goddard in his recovery from injury, shoulder from memory. Forward line looks good and I like the inclusion of Murphy, he tends to lead up alot and take a lot of marks which is always a plus, and this year is his first uninjured pre-season apparently. nice work.

BACKS

Selwood
Buckley
Davis
Webberley

MIDFIELD

Warnock

FORWARDS
Tippett

My forward line is risky for sure but happy to take the punt on Wright and Watts and I am sure Stevens will play 22 games and be consistent at least.
