Goddard, Enright, Hodge, H Shaw, Kennelly, Hunt, Waters (Maguire, Silvagni)

Swan (C) Bartel, Ball, J McVeigh, Barlow, Martin (Jetta, Shuey)

Sandilands, Hille (Warnock, Kreuzer)

Reiwoldt, ROK, Pavlich, Gia, Medhurst, Hall, Mayne (Rockliff, Pods)

If I take out J McVeigh who im tipping for a 20ppg avg increase and go with everyone else with 3 rookies I could upgrade:
H Shaw => Hargrave
Hille => Tippett
Pavlich => SJ

Still not sure i want to start with Goddard.

Thoughts? Still not sure on my 7th forward and my reserve defenders.

thx for hasty comment....

felt most scard of backline tbh so sured it up a tad.......malceski/kennelly hold some risks as well......

u think i should try 3 mid rookies?

Nope, I was simply stating that your forwardline has the most risk.
Swapping out risk from the forwards to the midfield is simply a shuffle and you need to weigh everything up. Was merely food for thought.

I like people to think of different setups and strategies and challenge the generically accepted setups which appear all to common on the boards. However in the end we all have the same money with a set number of favorites which most lock in so it does lend itself to a small number of setups.

My suggestion is perhaps make some teams on fanfooty. Have one as your current setup, then have a 2nd perhaps with 3 rookie mids and so forth with any other setups you can think of (Dont make a seperate team for say armitage to masten or Ablett to Swan but only for different price setups). Then consider them all and pick one. At the moment I think people are most concerns over Player X over Player Y (e.g. Ablett or Swan, Masten or Armitage, Kennelly or Malceski) however setup should be food for thought.

@whelan=legend: i really like ur team but if i were to have one criticism it is that the backline has a lot of risk. I'm not completely sold on drummong because he sometimes has to play key-position and focus on shut down, Macdonald is very old even though his NAB form has been good I'm not sure to trust him and Kennelly, Hunt and Waters are all pretty risky so u need to upgrade one of these to a premium such as carrazzo, mackie, shaw.

Maybe downgrade a midfielder and put Barlow on the field. And u should be playing Barlow ahead of Trengrove also

hey guys, threw this team together for the missus (she always picks khan haretuku and ranga ediriwickrama because of the hilarious names, not dt points scoring ability) and reckon its ok... feel free to pick it apart... oh apologies for the cropping, its the best i could do with a dodgy laptop scratch pad. thanks

Joel MacDonald is 25. You're thinking of our captain James McDonald.

whoops my mistake,
My team:
BAC: Gram - Enright - Carrazzo - Hodge - Mackie - Ladson - Hunt ( Ihave Davis and Silvagni at the moment as reserves but that is just until rd. 1 teams are named)

MID: Bartel (CAPT) - Dal Santo - Ball - Trengrove - Barlow - Martin (Shuey - Banner)

FWD: Riewaldt (VC) - Pavlich - O'Keefe - Franklin - Tippet - Medhurst - Dangerfield (Rockliff - Podsiadly)

I'd downgrade one emg ruckman and upgrade Howlett to someone like Shuey and upgrade Broughton to Duffield. The rest is very good.

I reckon Howlett is a bit of a smokey tbh.

So thoughts??

Any suggestions would be great.

Am not sold on GAblett - poor start to preseason, already won GF & Brownlow and his long term marriage break up WILL have an impact on his scores.

Great team.

I've actually had that exact backline, midfield and rucks recently in my team. Slightly different now. Have 7 of the same forwards. Only thing I would suggest is to try and get another forward premium/keeper but looking at your team I'm guessing you don't have enough cash for it.

I like your team, I too have changed much and am ending up similar to you. Midfield seems good. I have also taken Swan Ablett and Bartel and keep trying to find a reason to think it's a bad idea, but they score so well.

A few suggestions:
-I'd take a young mid that will get more ball than Morabito-maybe martin or put trengove on the field.

your backline is really good although your last 3 are weak. I'm not convinced silvagni will play that much.

the forwards are good but risky given SJ can get injured, Franklin can and may be up and down (especially considering hawthorn's ruck stocks) and Cloke is too up and down. Along with hall, it's too much risk. You don't need to spend more, but I'd change one of the 4 for a less risky performer.

don't have weston on the bench, there's no way he'll play for us in 2010. If you need cheap, go mitch duncan.
