Re: 2011 Rate My Team

Dunno why I waste my time coming onto this thread, every year, so many people just go "Rate my Team" and you're left with a whole heap of rate my team posts. Could people please rate a team before they ask to be rated.

Yeah usually the new kids on the block do it and it is rather annoying, particularly after I post my response to a RMT then post my team for a bit of feedback only to get an annoying "new here, plz rate my team" etc..

I'll return the favor mate

My Team

Backs

Goddard, Gibbs, Broughton, M Hurley, B Sheppard, M Drum, Heppell, A Otten, (T Hine, N Duigan, P Puopolo)

Midfield

D Swan (C), A Swallow, T Boak, J Trengove, D Martin, R Tambling, (D Swallow, J Polec, D Heppell)

Rucks

A Sandilands, D Hale, J Tippett, B Moran

Forwards

A Didak, M Pavlich, C Rioli, R Petterd, K Tippett, D Petrie, L Tapscott, (S. Motlop, S Day, J Darling)

I'm not sure about the forward line looks a bit weak.

Any ideas? I've tweaked it a little bit, since I fist entered it. I still want to get Josh Fraser in there, Reckon he might be a keeper with the game time.

Overall I reckon you have a few to many mid priced options guys like Shepperd, Hurley, Drum, Trengrove, Martin, Tambling, KTip sure one or two may have a break out season but you'd have to be extremely lucky for all of them to do well especially players coming from last years draft who often get a case of second years blues. You'd proably be better of changing half to premiums half to rookies who cost far less and are much more likely to go up in price then go down.

Petterd is a dangerous pick but could pay off big time guess its up to how much your willing to risk.

I could go through your rookies but really it's hard to tell atm as NAB cup form is a huge factor. So you should work really hard on your structure atm and not stress to much about whos actually in the team.

Re: 2011 Rate My Team

Hope your joking. I'd never steal somebody elses squad.

also with the Swallow thing, he'll definately come on the field in round 2.
Haha, nah mate. No harm meant, just saying you have good taste is all. :p:thumbsu: Yep, for sure. I credit your side for making me re-think Gram v Bolton now too... Which is a good thing. Anyone happen to have an opinion on this conudrum? As a Swans supporter I'd naturally want Boltz up and firing but he's pushing on and its an achillies...... Hrmmmm....

Petterd is injured isn't he??

Re: 2011 Rate My Team

The team above me had already been done, so here goes mine...

My first attempt, be nice:
Goddard, Lake, Gibbs, Enright, Otten, Heppell, Smedts, Hunt (K), Toy, Duigan
Hodge, Pendlebury, Deliedio, Swallow (D), Cooney, Rich, Bennell, Gaff, Polec (J)
Cox, Goldstein, Fraser, Cordy
Pavlich, Rioli, O’Keefe(R), Brennan, Hansen (L), Krakour, Richardson (C), Mzungu, Talia, Smith(I)

Re: 2011 Rate My Team

Backline ok, Otten? injury concern could you swap with say Davis? or is he too expensive.

Midfield : I don't see a super mid, Hodge IMO will get heavily tagged, I reckon S Burgoyne and s Mitchell may score better. A Krakouer, I'm not sure if he will slot straight into the side. Swallow is that Kangaroos Swallow?

Rucks : good move Jacobs will be a good ruck for the crows.

Forwards. Probably too strong to the rest of the team. But looks pretty good.

Puopolo and Duigan are two players likely to play early;)

With Mitchell, IMO I don't think he will play at his peak because of the captaincy deal and I think it will give Hodge more drive to do better because of his role in the team

Cheers, Thanks, I'm still trying to get a good balance here. I gotta get away from picking from my heart.;)

I did kinda learn that last season having both Cotchin and Masten. Masten destroyed me.

I do like the idea of risking on Petterd. It paid off last year putting Malceski in the team. Gotta take some risks.

I took J Trengove and D Martin, could have had four other options around same price aswell, R Palmer, J Scully, T Cotchin, S Hill. The hardest part about this season is the bye, and I seem to be running out of cash quickly. The challenging part is getting your Dustin Martin of 2011. Get that right and those 300-400 players are got for super cheap.

You have some cash left over right mate?? You have to...

DEF: I think Lake has had an interrupted pre season and is a risk. I like Duigan and Toy. And at least you know Hunt will get a game every week for a couple of weeks and make some money.
MID: I think Cooney has shown us as good as he gets and reckn there's more possibiloity in the mids this year.
RUC: Do you really think Goldstein & Cox will run it out all year?? And Fraser on the bench is a heap of cash to be just sitting there imo. Why not do the Mpp deal and save some cash??
FWD: I like it... A lot. Just wait and see what the NAB cup thows up first though I reckon.

Thanks for the feedback, will prolly down grade frazer (ideas??) and upgrade Cox to Sand, imo Goldstien will rip it appart this year with HMAC possibly injured.

I will prolly go with that fwd line and mix up the back / fwd lines a bit

I have 73k left over so a few might be upgradedable

What stands out to me is Lake. He is recovering from a few injuries and hasn't had the best pre season. Heres a link you may be interested in.http://www.westernbulldogs.com.au/s...article/tabid/4112/newsid/106514/default.aspx

Also there is a bit of a question mark on if Ablett can he be fed the ball as much as he was at Geelong ? I know he can get his own ball, but he will need to receive it alot as well to justify his Price $$$$.

Just a couple of observations to get the ball rolling for you. :)

Re: 2011 Rate My Team

I am a bit stumped with my team at the minute if i'm honest. here it is:

BACKS: Goddard, Gibbs, Deledio, Broughton, Grimes, Adcock, Otten (Toy, Hibberd, Puopolo)

MIDS: Swan, Selwood, Stanton, L. Anthony, D. Swallow, Gaff (Harris, Jacobs, Wallis)

RUCKS: Sandilands, Fraser (Z. Smith, Charman)

FORWARDS: Chapman, Riewoldt, Goodes, Morton, Knights, Petrie, Krakouer (Richardson, Smith, Callinan)

I would really appreciate some feedback as I feel that I am strong down back but weak other than that. Forwards are ok I feel but would appreciate feedback. It's more so the mids. Stanton and Anthony just came in then, I had Montagna and Heppell in before them so was basically working on the fact I would be playing 3 guns and 3 rookies starting on in my mids but not sure if that is the way to go about it or is the set up now alright.

I would really appreciate it grately, cheers:thumbsu:
PS: I've got like nothing in the bank haha ($600)

Cool, I honestly was under the impression he would need some support and slow down at times through the year but didn't really know too much about him so thanks for the reply. Much appreciated. :thumbsu:

Not a bad team but you are almost too strong down back
Downgrade Broughton or Grimes for a rookie like Heppell/Duigan
With the extra cash buy another premiuim mid
Maybe upgrade Stanton to a Mitchell/Hayes/Cooney
possibly upgrade Anthony but not neccessary
Other than that pretty good team. only midfield is a bit weak
Hope it helped

Good backline, pretty much like mine
Rucks are good however you might want a better emergency Z.Smith/A.Cordy
If you have Andrew Swallow starting in the mid then it is a good mid
Maybe try and get David Swallow as well either starting or on the bench
Fowards very good. Not sure about Sam Gilbert up foward though...maybe downgrade for someone like Brennan/Higgins but this is just a personal thought otherwise good team
