I am up to swap the sub rucks - they are just placeholders at this point :) Who would you recommend?

Cheers for the Sylvia advice a lot Better to hear dees fans opinion on own players... Will have a look might get Pav

Rucks to consider (and watch preseason) Bailey (who u have), Robbie Campbell, Tom Derickx (played well preseason)... Something to keep an eye on though (if u need to make money there but it's a pretty unimportant position)

- Not sure about Darling to be honest
- Probably want to take advantage of Petrie's MPP (add in Tippett or another forward/ruckmen MPP).
- Not sure why the love for both Gibbs, Deledio and Goddard all in the backline (although I have two in the backline, one in the midfield).
- Heath Shaw may prove a massive, boom or bust pick.
- Nathan or Andrew Krakouer?
- Forward is actually really good, quite like it.
- Really, really like your midfield options.

Here is my team:

DEFS:
Brendon Goddard (Defender/Midfield)
Brett Deledio (Defender/Midfield)
Greg Broughton
Lindsay Gilbee (Defender/Midfield)

MIDS:

Changed my team half a dozen times whilst I was posting this, so some feeback would be well recieved.

Thanks
don't think the mpp is as important as you are making it out to be.......it's ok, but don't rely on it to be the most important part of your team..so with that being said, gibbs to backline, chapman to fwds, franklin and rioli in same fwd is debatable, isaac smith from what i have been told by some hawthorn supporters will not get many games early or at all (credibility factor unknown), swan pendlebury together as well?? iffy...

Maybe worth cosidering Brad Green or Adam Goodes?

Goodes is in.

Derickx is in.

Thanks guys.

I still rate Sylvia and he had his most consistent season in 2010 - the problem is that we don't know where he will be played.

He may spend a lot of time pinch hitting up forward if Petterd gets injured or Greeny is unavailable or being tagged.

He is a great forward but he may be getting only 70's in those games...

So I feel he is a consisten player now - just perhaps not a consistent SC player

Looks very nice - forwards are weak though.

You are taking a big risk on Stevey J and in Round 7 you haveHawks, Freo, Geebung on byes and you're probably going to get donuts up forward - just something to be weary of!

Here's mine - no one ever replies with feedback :D

BACKS:
B Goddard, B Gibbs, B Deledio, J Grimes, A Otten, D Heppell, N Duigan, B Jacobs, J Toy, C Howard

MIDS:
M Murphy, S Pendlebury, J Watson, M Boyd, D Swallow, T Mzungu, S Atley, A Gaff, M Hibberd

RUCKS:
A Sandilands, D Cox, J Tippett, M Bailey

FORWARDS:
P Chapman, N Riewoldt, L Franklin, J Riewoldt, D Petrie, A Krakouer, B Matera, C Richardson, J Lamb, I Callinan

I have 232k in the kitty - I just had to minimise having too many guns from the same team - not sure about J Watson and J Riewoldt.

Ideas? THANKS
Defence is pretty nice, apart from one player all your on field players are the same as me. :) Ben Jacobs is injured so you'll want to look at replacing him.

Even without Swan that's a very strong midfield.

I love the rucks (again same as me). I've read some great great things about Cox this pre-season.

Like you say you might be better off upgrading J.Riewoldt. As for the forward line rookies I haven't seen/read enough of some of them to really comment.

I guess you probably want to spend a bit of that cash. I'd possibly look at upgrading a rookie in your defence. Although i'm not sure if you'll find anyone decent around the 300k mark.

All in all a very good side. Good Luck. :thumbsu:

My team:

DEF: Goddard, Gibbs, Deledio, Broughton, Grimes, Otten, Heppell (Coad, Toy, Puopolo)

RUC: Sandilands, Cox (Z. Smith, Bailey)

FWD: Chapman, Riewoldt, Franklin, Green, Goodes, Dangerfield, Krakouer (Richardson, Smith, Callinan)

Any feedback would be appreciated.

Bump! :D

Anyone care to have a look at my team? Thanks.

Pretty solid across the board. Only issue would be having Gaff & Mzungu starting, but that's not that big an issue.

Green in your forward line .. maybe an inspired choice.

Hi All,

Making my second attempt here with a few modifications. Concerned about how many HAW players in the Forward line but unsure if I have the players to cover. What do you guys reckon? All suggestions welcome.

DEF: Goddard, Gibbs, Deledio, Enright, Otten, Heppell, Duigan
res: Toy, Puopolo, Wilson

MID: Judd, Selwood, Hodge, Pav, Swallow(d),Gaff
res: Harris, Atley, Hibberd

RUCK: Sandilands, Cox
res: Bailey, Campbell

FWD: Riewoldt, Franklin, Didak, Rioli, O'Keefe, Mzungu, Smith
res: Richardson, Tapscott, Callinan

Thanks in advance guys.
By the way, I would comment on other teams but I still consider myself a novice at all this!

Keep an eye on the 2 rookie backs, also Otten.. bit of a tail there. Mids look good. I'm monitoring Judd as well. Murphy's full pre-season is almost turning me to him. Good rucks. I'd probably wouldn't pick O'Keefe just yet. Watch his role during the pre. Wouldn't have more then 1 per team pre line. Especially with the byes, but that's just me. You could probably get away with 2 but 3 is a bit much. If you go with 2 make sure you have 2 solid back ups when the Hawks have a break. Good team though.. bit of tinkering

Only thing concerning me is the 3 rookie/Harris in the mids..could still work.. certainly allows to expand elsewhere which is a good thing..

No out and out stars in the midfield will hold you back. Not sure on Chad either

Cheers, yeah have gone for stronger backline and forward line as I feel mids are easier to upgrade with more quality picks there.

Think Daisy and Griffen are in for huge years so hopefully won't have to trade them out. Joel Corey is apparently in good nick and will rise in price if he can get back to his best. Also risky with Foley and McLean coming back from injury, but if one of them can become premium, then only have to trade out the other.

Heard reports that Chad has trained the house down but is a risky pick. Still a lot of tinkering to be done.

This thread is queer!!!

Dont you all realise you are all competing with each other for the over all prize??? And by doing this thread year after year not only are you effectively helping your "competitions" teams improve but your practically making your players all the same!!!

I have looked at about 3 - 4 pages worth of teams and basically all back lines and ruck divisions are identical oh yeah and half of the forward lines....

U are making supercoach any better by doing this, in fact you are ruining the game by pretty much taking out the unique and individual nature of each teams line up out of the game!!!

Thing that fustrates me is that half of you probably winge about the herald sun for giving out tips all the time making it easy for everyone but you fail to see that you are doing the exact same thing!!!

Who ever the mods are on this forum, next year should ban this rate my teams threads to make it a more fun and unique competition for all of us.

Agreed any chance of it going now whilst we still have over a month to go! I dont mind somebody needing advice about a few players but their whole team. Come on!!!

The last 5 pages are so repetitive and anybody with somebody half unique that might be a good gamble (L Anthony, Foley, Dangerfield) are being told to have them removed and replaced by the horde of players that seem to be common within every team!

I don't mind people wanting to help others out. I think you're going a little over the top.

One thing that I don't necessarily find annoying but moreso interesting is the number of instances where the feedback given is "get rid of mid-priced player X, and downgrade to rookie Y". "That way you can upgrade player Z to another premium".

My advice to everyone would be that if you have selected a mid-priced player, then I would assume that you have done your homework on them and believe that for whatever reason they will increase their value enough to warrant their selection. Back your own judgement!

Whilst a gun/ rookie strategy is perfectly fine and proven it is not the only strategy. Finding one or two mid priced players from the start of the year that turn into premiums (see Hannerbury) last year, are worth their weight in gold!

Sure there is the risk element but the reward is great.

Thanks for the feedback syl. I agree with you on the stevie j risk and i might trade him out, though i did hear that he has had the best preseason of his career. Also, cheers for the heads up on the round 7 bye. Couple of tips re your team: Ben Jacobs has gone down with glandular fever so not sure what sort of form he will be in come the start of the season. Also in your rucks I would think that Fraser, Gorringe and Z Smith would be ahead of Joel Tippett for the suns but if you have heard different go with it. As for Watson - i have had him the last 4 years and I have found him to be a consistent scorer who doesn't miss much football.

*sussing these lads out atm, they'll probably change.

Off the top of my head, Drummond is a SC Gun? I reckon I'm taking the risk.
