Yes. Way to much. Yarran, Sidebottom, Kennedy, Warnock, Hale and Reid can all get upgraded to a premium (as in 1 of them)Would downgrade Petrie to Zac Smith, gets you an extra $100k, then get Sandilands in as your first ruck (I think you could and still have cash in hand)

then Foley/Ward downgrade to bottom price rookie, and you could upgrade Yarran or Sidebottom.

This is my very preliminary team, waiting till NAB Cup finishes before making any changes. I will need to change my defence as it is very sketchy at this stage.

DEF: B.Goddard, B.Gibbs, D.Roberton, P.Davis, D.Astbury, A.Otten, M.Drum (K.Hunt, K.Cheney, A.Hooper)
MID: J.Selwood, D.Mundy, B.Moles, G.Ibbotson, M.De Boer, H.Bennell (M.Barlow, D.Swallow, T.Houlihan)
RUC: A.Sandilands, P.Ryder (K.Tippett, T.Goldstein)
FWD: B.Harvey, M.Pavlich, J.Brennan, C.Dawes, D.Menzel, J.Post, B.Griffiths (S.Motlop, S.McKernan, B.Matera)

have $16,800 left over so yeah.
And no, I don't go for Freo.

Your rucks are excellent, obviously. I like the unique pick in choosing Foley, i think he has a lot of upside. One player im not too sold on is Adcock, he's pretty injury prone and even if he does string games together i don't think he'll score well enough. I probably wouldn't have Dixon either, i think there's a few better options...

Out of curiosity what are peoples thoughts on Tapscott? He hasn't played any NAB games and it's his 3rd season, high draft pick... I would have thought he'd be pushing for games but doesn't seem to be?

My team:

I've made a few changes since my last efforts...

Backs: Goddard, Broughton, Delidio, Grimes, Gibbs, Otten, Coad - Duigan, Toy, Puopolo.

Mids: Swan, Montagna, Bartel, Burgouyne, Swallow, Heppell - Mzungu, Harris, Savage.

Rucks: Sandilands, Hale (I reckon he'll be a decent pick up. !st ruck & playing forward) - Bailey, Smith.

Forwards: Chapman, Franklin, Riewoldt, Higgins, Knights, Krakouer, Gamble - Darling, Matera, Richardson. (Tapscott?)

Its Tapscott's second season.

Just wanting some feedback on this team. Any advice would be much appreciated

Backs: First 4 looks very nice, like grimes he will be a gun this year. N.Krakouer is a bit risky i think, if you want a GC back for your team then i think Bock would be a much better option.

Mids: Swan, Judd, Bartel awesome. Sidebottom i like, will be better again this year and is a bit unique. Good rookies except Liberatore might not be able to get into the dogs team but obviously watch NAB cup.

Rucks: Nice. Petrie is a bit wasted on the bench i think, i dont think he will gain a whole lot of money really. You would be better to get Smith from GC, then use the money to upgrade Krakouer to Bock.

Fwds: Solid. Not sold on Prestia and Day could be better options around for a lower price, maybe I.Callinan?

You have a lot of GC players in your team which is fine but you could run in to a bit of trouble with the byes and also you cant be certain that all of them will be named come round 2.

According to the Herald Sun's stats A Krakouer was the Pies second highest SC scorer the other night with well over 100 points

The Gold Coast will be interesting to watch, i suspect that they will start the season strongly but if they run up injuries or though general wear and tear may well fade in the second half of the season.

BACKS: Goddard, Gibbs, Deledio, Broughton, Enright, Otten, N.Duigan (J.Toy, B.Retzlaff, P.Puopolo)

MIDS: Swan, Hodge, Cross, D.Swallow, D.Heppell, T.Mzungu (J.Polec, R.Conca, I.Smith)

RUCKS: Sandilands, Ryder (Z.Smith, M.Bailey)

FORWARDS: Chapman, Franklin, N.Riewoldt, Sylvia, C.Yarran, A.Krakouer, C.Richardson (B.Matera, J.Darling, I.Callinan)

Any obvious mistakes?

F: Chapman, Riewoldt, Franklin, Pavlich, Krakouer, Mzungu, Richardson (Petrie, Matera. I.Smith)

Ive tried to work in some MPP players, id rather not have petrie but i think i need that protection in the rucks

Having moved over seas I miss a lot of the talk around work to get tips on the young kids coming through so some tips on my team would be nice

Backs - Gibbs, Delideo, Enright, Drummond, Birchall, Otten, Strauss, Toy, Pupulo, Duigan

Mids - Swan, Boyd, Hayes, Bartell, Swallow, Gaf, conca, heppell, harris

Rucks - Sandi, Fraser, petrie, moran

Forwards - N Reiwoldt, Chapman, Pav, Higgins, Gray, A Krakouer, Day, Richardson, Mzungu, Matera.

Cheers

Your backline is fairly thin. Drummond is a risk and I had Birchall last season. Never again. Otten could post consistent 80's & 90's if he doesn't break down and Strauss is OK for a rookie. Bench is OK.

Your midfield is solid although I'd look at moving Heppell into defence and getting another mid for your bench as I believe Heppell has a better chance of playing (and scoring higher) than Strauss.

Your rucks are good although Fraser may be a cat.

Your forward line is good although there are question marks over Higgins and Gray being able to string together games. Bench is solid.

Now, after much consideration, here is Version 2.0 of a $50000 team before the season starts ...

Backs: Gibbs, Deledio, Gilbee, Duffield, Grimes, Otten, Heppell
(Toy, Faulks, Duigan)

Mids: Goddard, Swan, Judd, Jack, Krakouer, D Swallow
(Harris, Atley, Contin)

Rucks: Sandilands, Bellchambers
(Z Smith, Derickx)

Forwards: N Reiwoldt, Pavlich, Rioli, J Reiwoldt, M Morton, Duncan, Matera
(Mzungu, Richardson, Callinan)

OK. I understand my second ruckman position is weak. With Hille having a sore knee and Petrie having a few weeks off my plan is for Bellchambers to "carry the load" for the first month or so before trading for Petrie (after a few games to blow out the cobwebs) or a better option.

I also understand that M Morton is a risk as is Grimes (injury). I also don't like the fact that, having read through this forum, that 99% of posters have the same trio of Gibbs, Deledio & Grimes in their defence, just as I do.

I originally had Garland in my defence as I believe he is Dustin Fletcher mk2.0 and his Supercoach scores will begin to reflect this in the upcoming season. So before the season starts I may trade a defender who may be out of form or injured (as I believe this line is very solid) and free up 100000k to upgrade my second ruck.

Any other ideas?

BACKS: Goddard, Gibbs, Deledio, Broughton, Enright, Otten, N.Duigan (J.Toy, B.Retzlaff, P.Puopolo)

RUCKS: Sandilands, Ryder (Z.Smith, M.Bailey)

FORWARDS: Chapman, Franklin, N.Riewoldt, Sylvia, C.Yarran, A.Krakouer, C.Richardson (B.Matera, J.Darling, I.Callinan)

Backs are good

I like the guns and rookies stratgey youve taken in the midfield but my advice would be, because midfueld rookies are plentiful, use hepell in the backs and mzungu in the forwards and replace them with other midfeld rookies. Id also have a second look at Cross, i think theres better options at his price but thats up to you.

Big risk with Ryder in the ruck, but if it pays off youre a genius, id stick with it

Im guessing youve put Yarran in the forward line because it looks like he might float across half back, look at his scores in the NAB and make sure hes going to play that role and if he does he might be a good unique pick

B: Goddard, Gibbs, Deledio, Grimes, Adcock, Otten, Hepell (Toy, Duigan, Puopolo)
M: Swan, Judd, Boyd, Bartel, D.Swallow, Polec (Harris, Hibberd, Callinan)
R: Sandilands, Tipett (Bailey, Derickx)

Ive tried to work in some MPP players, id rather not have petrie but i think i need that protection in the rucks

Backs are good and up to standard except for Adcock which may have some question marks above his head.

Mids are also pretty good, a few people would have picked bartel for under 500k. Hoping he steps up this year in the absence of ablett and rack up some big scores. Remember swallow isn't playing round 1 so chuck him on your bench.

Your ruck stocks are pretty low, Sandi is a definite lock but Tipett hasn't really shown much over the past year, would go Jolly instead if you can fit him in under your cap. Not sure how many games your subs are going to get though.

Forwards are pretty good as well. You'll be hoping that chapman can keep up last seasons form, be wary of franklin as he is prone to suspension.

Ok guys, this is my first time and would be interested in some advice if anyone can assist..

I tried to get a good number of premiums into my side, however as a consequence of that I've had to downgrade a couple and take a punt on some hopeful up and comers (Gibbs for Grimes and Riewoldt for Dawes).

I've also tried to work it so that I don't have too many players from the same team in the one position (2 max).

Backline:
Goddard, Deledio, Grimes, Everitt, Otten (Adel), Krakour (GC), Schofield (Lower, Guigan, Toy)

Mid:
Swan, Selwood, Hodge, Kennedy, Tambling, Mzungu
(Swallow, Harris, Wallis)

Ruck:
Sandilands, Petrie
(Z Smith, Derickx)

Forward:
Chapman, Rioli, Goodes, Dawes, Krakour (Coll), Franklin, Gamble
(D Prestia, Darling, Richardson)

Am I taking a bit too much of a risk on a few of these hopefulls? My side looks quite different from some of the other posters with the exception of some of the premiums.

Thanks, Leigh

Dont know if I'd say choosing Ryder is a big risk.

Pretty solid selection I would of thought, along with good pre-season form.

As with any Premium bomber however you will need to trade if you plan on making your league GF.

like the team some unique selections:thumbsu:
