Rate the Standard of State Leagues

Okay, so I haven't really watched games from leagues other than the old VFL-now-AFL, and the current VFL. I'm interested to know what people think are the relative standards of each of the state leagues.

Let's say that on a scale of 0-100, 0 represents AusKick, and 100 is the AFL.

Now where would you place the standard of footy in the SANFL, QAFL, WAFL, TFL, NSWAFL, NTFL and VFL on the same scale?

Thanks. :)

It would be very rare for anyone to watch local footy from another state so it would be hard to make comparisons.

One could say that the cream players from the SANFL are better than the WAFL because they have in recent times beat us in state of origin games.
These state of origin games, do they include/exclude players from other states playing in the respective state leagues?

I guess that could be a fair comparison if it's just the WAFL vs. SANFL, for instance, as opposed to true State of Origin.

What would you rate them on the scale:

0 (AusKick) ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 100 (AFL)

Why have Auskick at 0? An Auskick team wouldnt even touch the ball against a VFL team so by that scale i would have VFL at 99 SANFL and WAFL at 98 and i dont know enough about the other leagues.

What would you rate them on the scale:

0 (AusKick) ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 100 (AFL)

0 Auskick
10 Bush kids league
30 Suburban Seniors
50 WAFL
65 VFL
99 WA Amy's D grade
100 AFL

Lets be honest, the level that is biggest is from AFL down to State leagues...just a general recession into poo from there on....

SANFL pays much more, so excluding AFL players is probably the strongest, due to greed.

VFL is probably stronger when you include the AFL listed players that play there.

If anyone has a better suggestion for a 0 rating, which doesn't pre-empt anyone's answers to the thread question, I'm all ears.

List all leagues by salary cap, and then put it on a ratio with the AFL at 100....

Money rules the day, even in the State leagues, and $$'s do attract the better players and it all generally flows from there....administration/crowds/skills etc.....

I'd say the WAFL, SANFL and VFL are around the same mark. VFL may be slighlty better due to the greater number of AFL players.

I don't care how much they pay, I want to know what the standard of football played is.

If you are going to use Auskick, at least use it properly. A better question would be, which state has the best Auskick kids running around at half time?:D

On ABC2 (ABC Second Digital Channel) they show the WAFL, SANFL, VFL and the NT League, usually late at night (11.30ish)

I find the NT league the most entertaining because of the flair of the aboriganal players. Great to watch em take players on with plenty of run out of the backline. Great to watch when it's dry, very scrappy when it's wet, cuase it is damn wet.:thumbsu::thumbsu:

The WAFL can be good to watch but it depends who's playing. Quite a lopsided competition with the top teams way better than the bottom few. Some good youngsters blended with older ex-AFL players and good WAFL clubmen (not up to AFL standard) The top teams are good to watch but the skills can be bad at times.:thumbsu:

The SANFL seem to have very good skill and most of the games seem to be closer than some of the WAFL games. Similar to WAFL with player types but more physical. The body's seem bigger also.:thumbsu:

The VFL I haven't seen much but from what I have seen is similar to the SANFL but with more of the 2nd tier AFL players and some AFL rookies. Most games seem to be free flowing and skills are quite good. :thumbsu:

To sum up the NTAFL is entertaining but skills can let down good play. Great to watch when it's not raining. 70 rates it as my favorite to watch.
The VFL is good to watch to see how the AFL listed players are going good skills on display also. 68 rates it as my second favorite to watch.
The SANFL is a good skillful league with some big bodies. 65 rates itas my 3rd favorite league to watch.
Unfortuately for me the WAFL depends on who's playing and I will then watch. Not of the league it used to be which is a shame. Rates 55 for me.
