I reckon he can become a damn good CHF that rotates through the midfield. Anyone can learn to kick for goals it just takes time and patience. I do agree that bringing him back into our b22 is probably the wrong call for finals though. Regardless, they will force him in on merit.
"Chf rotating through the midfield"
Really? You make it sound so simple. Does Charlie Curnow "rotate through the midfield".

The father sons are a non-issue for me.

It's the AFL saying we can't match a bid for an NGA player inside the top 40 but for some random bullshit reason but then 6 picks later the Saints can? Either you can match an NGA bid inside the top 40 or you can't, don't give me this in-between bullshit.
There is more merit in NGAs giving opportunities and growing the game than Father/Son, which has no merit except the vibe.

It's why guys like Treacy and Logue can't make as bonafide KPFs.
They might be bloody good 200 game 3rd talls or big midfielders or mid sized lead up forwards or whatever
But in the 21st C you need a "Tabs or bigger" guy to play FF.
If Lobb goes we need to find at least one of those types.
How about Tabs plays the Tabs role? haha

Amiss is 196 and Scaife (assuming we take him) is 198.

If you are faster on the lead then the taller back won’t have a chance.
But you need separation, clean ball coming in, or faster reaction times.
Even Tabs at 198cm is giving away inches.
Treacy, Amiss are quick off the mark, but getting into a contested marking
competition isn’t smart football anyway.
Unless you have quality power forwards, which we don’t.
This may change with Jackson?
The thing is that with Treacy at 194, Amiss 195 and Jackson/Tabs 198-199cms
you wont stop them all if they run different lines.
Bring the ball to ground and it’s another story.

Where Switta , Schultz, Freddy and , Western swoop on it ?
I like this movie !

How good was that small mic'd up section from Alex Pearce in showing just how good Hayden Young is as a defender.
Young quickly assessed that Pearce had been bumped over by Bruce, was out of position, and ran back to take the intercept mark infront of Bruce. Pretty awesome.

Yep, understand what you are saying but there are plenty of times when the only way the ball is in coming in is either the long kick down the line from half back to half forward, or the long high kick to the hot spot.

Given how tall key position players are getting, guys like Logue and Treacy are a bit undersized for the key position role is all I'm saying. They may be able to pinch hit OK in an emergency or be great at other things but we will need to maintain our height if we want to have a September worthy forward line.

I’ve worked out our forward line problem. We don’t have a Jack !
Jack Riewoldt- 195cm
Jack Gunston - 193cm
Jack Darling - 191cm
Jack ( formerly Josh) Treacy- 193cm

Problem solvered !

Anyone wondering what Brennan Cox was doing in the marking contest before Jordan Clark’s spoil?

Exit stage right…

That still grinds my gears.

Western Bulldogs able to match bid pick 2 - Sam Darcy (f/s)
Collingwood able to match bid pick 4 - Nick Daicos (f/s)
Fremantle UNABLE to match bid pick 27 - Jesse Motlop (NGA)
St Kilda able to match bid pick 33 - Mitchito Owens (NGA)

It's almost like it's a Melbourne thing...
What ever makes you think that!!!!!
Really it amazes me that you would.

3 minutes left in the 1st quarter, Cam Mooney “I’ll be surprised if Sean Darcy sees the game out, English has been running him up and down this ground.”

Piss off Cam, you know nothing.

Does he still refuse to look at Freo players in the eye when he interviews them? He used to do it to Pav who'd return with a death stare.

Tosser.

I must admit I was nervous about the Clark trade given our history with relocating blokes back from Vic… No nerves whatsoever now. He has been a the jet he was at times for Geelong when played as HBF and then some…

What a pickup he has been and still so young with more to offer too it seems… Have really liked the way he has played and hints attitude and courage are first class…

Our backline is full of tough nuts who don't get bullied or shy away from any contest. We will use our defence as the foundation on which we build our premiership.

The bit I've been impressed with is his actual defensive efforts.
I knew we were getting someone with decent offensive skills, but moments like that spoil against the Bulldogs have occurred multiple times and are worth their weight in gold.

Yeah, just watched the highlights from the 5 under 22, and there's some ripping smothers, tackles and intercepts from Clark. He'll be top 10 in the Doig at the least, you'd think.

Our defence is so unbelievably stacked for so long. I imagine we'll be the least scored against defence in the league by the end of the regular season and the current ages of our preferred 7 is 19, 20, 21, 21, 23, 26, 27

One thing we havent mentioned much, Sam Darcy is going to be a ******* absolute monster where ever on the ground he plays.

Getting JUH and Darcy across two years (while being a decent team) is absolutely God tier ******* luck
It’s ridiculous.
Almost Hawthorn like. Practically a Lance Franklin and Roughead V2.0.
