I know the narrative will be all about West Coast's lineup/COVID troubles but that was an excellent performance from an understrength side. A near 10 goal win with no Darcy, Fyfe, Mundy or Serong is impressive. Especially given Brayshaw didn't exactly have a blinder. Fantastic to see a strong response to the shit dished up last week. The big challenge is carrying this momentum into next week against GWS.

Seems like we got the balance of the side a lot better this week. Walker provided so much drive off half back and looks like he's got 50+ games under his belt already. He won't always be as calm and clinical with his ball use but there is a hell of a lot of talent there and we'd be insane not to have him partnered up with Young on the half back flank for the rest of the year. Ditto Erasmus.

Fingers crossed Tucker is all good, that was nasty.

Good performance:
Brayshaw, Meek, Shultz, Chapman, Acres, Brodie, Switta

Promising signs:
Walker, Erasmus, Walters, Taberner, O’Driscoll

Average performance:
Lobb, Clark, Aish, Frederick, Pearce, Cox, Colyer, Ryan, Colyer, Young

Thoughts?
Average players
Lobb, R

End of list

Edit and Tucker, D but I was seriously worried about his neck there, so cut him slack

Magnificent. Ras, Noddy, and Walker need to be in the side each week now. Johnson too when he gets fit and some minutes under his belt at Peel.

I do worry about GWS next week though.

I'm not really sure how I feel after that.

Happy we won convincingly but I don't feel like I normally would after a 9 goal win.

Maybe it was the late eagles goals, maybe it was the way we reverted to kicking long to McGovern and Hurn most of the game, or maybe I'm just buying too much into the 'poor covid eagles' narrative causing me to underrate the win, but it just felt unsatisfying for some reason.

I dunno, I'm probably just still jaded after last week. We're sitting 2-1 but I still have no idea whether we're a decent team or not.

Cox was terrific, best game for a while for us? Not sure how the whole backline gets an average rating considering they got held to a sub 50 score.

The backline seems to be being held to a ridiculous standard around here of late.

Well we won't be beating top 8 sides with the way we played tonight. Still a lot to work on but a win is a win.

Might need to get your hands on a few more top 10 picks after that one. Struggled to put away a side holding on for dear life and running in quicksand
Our team was younger and less experienced than yours but good call champion.
