Hey fellas, as you probably know, Jordan Bannister is umpiring your game this week, and I just wanted to post this article here because he's been through a rough time recently and I think a show of support by your fans up at the Gabba this week would be a fantastic gesture by your club and it's members. He's a very good umpire and good luck on the weekend, see you in round 8 :thumbsu:. http://forum.sportal.com.au/default.aspx?g=posts&t=92211

I'm backing this to be the game that Jack Redden blasts back into form. Lock him in for the Sands of Gallipoli medal (if we still award it).

You keep you tip TBD, I am banking on Zorko this week, he just started showing a bit last week, and I think he is ready to unload.

Oooh. Cornelius named at full forward. I'd like to see if he has the instinct to know when to lead up the ground and when to lead from the square. Hoping he can show us he's not as lazy as a lot of us think he is. Although I'd suspect he may get Frawley as a match up and the Dees will give McDonald the job on Brown, with Garland or Watts providing a chop out.

Who said we aren't playing our high draft picks? Top 2 picks from the past 2 years all in the team;):p
I think you will find I put the case forward before Voss started playing them. Not surprisingly both Mayes and Doc have both played well since being selected.

Frawley is a beaut but Cornelius has to show something against a player of this ilk. He simply won't have a long career if he disappears every time a decent opponent goes near him. He probably isn't going to kick a bag on a quality defender like Frawley but a couple of goals and a good contest will keep me happy. If Frawley beats him every time the ball gets to them, then the doubts on Ace will grow.

This should be a no excuses game for Cornelius. Great weather, afternoon game, at home and against an opposition where we should be able to give him a decent supply of the footy. Go well Ace.

Agreed. They're the devil.

Sunday games are the worst. First, you have to wait for an extended interchange bench, then one more day to get the actual team.
Then you watch nearly every other team play, and lastly, it's the Lions. Bring back Saturday night football! :D
I don't mind them, gives me a chance to go out Saturday night with friends!

:D

Trouble with late sunday games is all eyes end up on us, instead of being distracted by other games going on at same time if on earlier in weekend.

Just right now that is not good. Too many journo vultures out there ready for the pickings.

Not sure why this is a problem. The majority of our efforts have been poor yet we have avoided much scrutiny. A similar effort should have the screws applied - are we not aiming for a premiership in 2016?

I get a bit sick of being a team of insignificance. Today we need to make a stand, & hopefully everyone gets to see it.

A stand against Melbourne?

About as much use as me taking a stand against that ant that looked like it was going to bite me yesterday. Actually, I think the ant might be more dangerous than Melbourne...

I've been quite concerned this week and especially seeing our forward line for this game and also taking into consideration that we are the lowest scoring side in the comp. Then I had a look at their forward line and there's is worse than ours. Both back lines are fairly strong. Our mids I would rate slightly better than theirs. So it is with our slightly better midfield and our forward line not being as crap as theirs as the points of difference for the game thus giving us a win, just.
