Played their hearts out, but three things need to change immediately:

1. Stocker to the midfield, resting HF

2. Fisher to go when it's his turn (not questioning his courage, but he's been stepping/drifting away from too many contests that have not been guaranteed that he could have impacted)

3. Gibbons back to the VFL to work on his touch, because he has made some devastating errors when given the ball in space forward of centre.

Fixing 1 & 3 alone will probably give us a couple of goals on the net difference. Playing Stocker as a medium defender having to manage a small defender's responsibilities is just ****ing mind-boggling.

I liked the response as good as crippa is he is human. I'm half sad. Relieved we didn't get smashed. Murphy can't tackle for shit. Dow chases like a sissy. Otherwise a good effort against a well oiled machine of a team.

This is the point in the season where we’ll just go all that effort for no reward and just pull one surprise win round 19 and end up 2/20 again.

Sadly Bolts just can’t get them to close a game... downfall.

I said it in the game day thread, and I will repeat it here.

If Carlton FC do not make an official complaint to the AFL about the umpiring we have copped all season, they are as weak as piss.

GC game lost by bad umpiring. HFC game lost to bad umpiring. CFC game totally won by them because of biased umpiring. It is not possible to play that well in a game of football and get only 2 free kicks awarded in a half. At least 4 'non' calls' in the last resulted directly in goals to the filth. 4 goals = 24 points. We lost by 19. Don't tell me the umpiring didn't make the difference.

We were mighty today, I'm proud of all the players. We outplayed them in every facet of the game, (except for umpiring) If we had played that well from the start of the season, we would be 6-2 or even 7-1. We would be respected by the umpires, who may actually start to revert to unbiased decisions. (I have a theory about unintentional bias, where the umpires favour the team they perceive to be 'the better team') and would have begun the long climb back to awesomeness.

Just imagine the reception the umpires would receive from the collingwood fans if those decisions stats were reversed.

I thought the same. But the argument that we didn’t do it - as per the previous poster - is wrong. The better point is knowing when to slow the play and we did that wrong.

Much happier with this effort. Last playing first and we took it right up to them. Pies fans would have been sh!tting their pants at the 20 minute mark of the final quarter. What a shame Collingwood got some soft goals at the death - it marred what had been a really good, close contest. Regardless of who won, a winning margin of less than a goal would have been fitting.

I'm feeling optimistic again. Had the umpiring been less one-sided, who knows? It might have been a lot closer at least.

And if we could have handled the intense pressure in the final minutes it could have been a different outcome.

And in the meantime he causes terrible momentum killing turnover handballs or kicks that are not worth persevering at in the 1's. It's easier for him to work on his issues in the 2's.

If the reason why this is happening is because they think his running numbers aren't high enough yet and they just want his ball use and contested ability in the team today, that's OK.

If it's because they genuinely believe he's a defender, they should never have made the trade.

I also fail to see how I'm getting down on the young bloke by saying I want him played at the stoppages... that's a huge responsibility.

Thats what everyone thought of Brendan Rodgers when got sacked for gross underperformance. Professional sports is unforgiving.

My only issue is that its taking a long time for Bolton to move on for gross underperformance. The club is in it to win flags not win games and we are tactically and strategically inept to win a game let alone come off the bottom of the ladder.

Wtf is a Brendan Rodgers and how can you be so short sighted? Go enrol in some critical thinking classes.

Those saying we ran out of legs don’t seem to be taking into account the demoralising effect of those awful umpiring decisions. Yes, we should be resilient enough to bounce back but we’re a young side. We’re developing our psychological steel as well as our physical development.

My point is I’m not sure it was as much them running over us but maybe our boys became psychologically cooked after 4-5 consecutive umpiring howlers. They had worked so hard to be in a good position, those decisions would have hurt a lot.

I am fuming.. we lost that game today because those maggots gave us nothing ! 2 free kicks in a half of football says it all. It’s been happening most weeks and it’s cost us the game today. That’s undeniable - players at the end had no confidence because those maggots sucked the energy out of them with their calls to Collingwood and non calls to us! Hence pies kicked a few cheapies at the end.
Boys had a real go today and they did not deserve the rubbish that was dished up by the umpires.

Take the fine, call it out.

As for Collingwood **** em, supporters are absolute dogs and I hope they fall over again.

His skill set is actually quite rare. Don't see players with dual sided ability, toughness and speed off the mark very often.

They're usually outside players. Stocker is going to be really good in his prime. Like really good.
