That would be fine if he was being played as a medium defender, but he's not. You want a strongly-built winger to work into the side that way, not a bloke who has his opponent shake him off every second time he goose steps.
His uncontested game is his weak spot right now, and they're giving him 20+ looks at that every game instead of putting him where he will legitimately change the game. Even in that last quarter, you could see if he was playing 3 metres closer to those defensive stoppages that he would have ripped the footy out of there.
I do not understand that instruction, at all.
It's incredible to watch people turn on defenders week in and week out, as though they're supposed to stop the football every time it's in their area.
It's like they expect the opposition to do nothing.

I think it's funny that some here are targeting plowman as some kind of hack. He is given the task of shutting down every small to mid sized fwd as well as some of the big fwds. He is constantly under pressure and more often than not does the job.
Seriously I wish you would take a walk so sick of hearing your ridiculous Bolton bashing, grow a brain seriously. Your ilk are the reason we ended up with Malthouse as coach, never ****ing happy.

Not concerned about what you have done elsewhere. You can't be constructive when you pick or choose.
That's pretty much how it is here, and it helps to stop the forum from turning into a facebook page. Is it really any skin off your nose to back up your assertion about today, spell out why Plowman was a liability out there, and enable others to either agree or debate your assertions? That's how discussion forums work, not just with closed off critical quips. They just seem troll-like and cause others to take the bait.

If you claim losing games is based on umpiring decisions then you’ll be more disappointed than not. Sure some disappointing ones but not the reason for the loss at all.
Agree thought Grundy closely followed by the umps where the difference in the end .

Imo it's just because of inexperience
Pretty sure he's played midfield all through junior career and we picked him up to play in that position. I think someone mentioned a while ago we've been playing him in the backline to get him working on his defensive game? I have little doubt he will play mid for us soon.

It really did Brett Ratten's career no harm.
Parko had a liking for putting young mids into the back pocket to teach them how to defend first.

It’s because he isn’t fit enough and needs to work on his defensive side. Seems logical to me. Once ready will go into midfield and will be a gun. Elite skills

Running around in circles with this one I think. Must be next gen Carlton plucking out a player and mis developing them. Though I dont think Stocker is as jelly as Bryce. But needs to be in the guts his kicking skills will create plenty/
