The afl.com.au preview is holding nothing back

"This game has the potential to get very, very ugly. Richmond is the reigning premier and has shown no sign of slowing down this year, currently on top of the ladder and heading for the minor premiership, while the Suns are floundering in 17th spot and fresh off losing to bottom team Carlton and being flogged by Melbourne in the past fortnight. The Tigers have built their game on pressure, and even if it's not at peak levels against the Suns, it's hard to see how Gold Coast can get anywhere near their opponents. Jack Riewoldt is playing the best footy of his career, and his match-up with Suns skipper Steven May should be a good one, but the Tigers have far too much depth and far too much run in their midfield. Aside from stars Dustin Martin and Trent Cotchin, the likes of Kane Lambert, Shane Edwards and former Sun Josh Caddy are having excellent seasons. The only glimmer of hope for the hosts is their upset of Sydney just three matches ago, but it's hard to see this match being anything but one-way traffic.

Very subdued and understated preview there ;)

Smash the Rabble! I want this to go with this, this year:

Had a little sticky beak on footyforecaster...
Its got us winning by 66

Beating Ess by 20
And the Doggies by 48 which means we end up with a percentage of 139 and a bit.
Cats in 2007 lost 4 and ended up with a percentage of 152. I dont think were gonna get to that but it’d be sweet to end up with a percentage over 145.
Not sure what we need to get up there.
Win by sh.tloads...

I must be one of the few that is actually looking forward to this game. Firstly, not assuming we will win but feeling pretty confident (I'm a tigers supporter with PTSD afterall) but secondly I absolutely loved us smashing Fremantle last year around this time and it really was the first win that gave me confidence we were the real deal. I'd love another smashing (from us obviously!) and it could be a good confidence booster for any of the new guys (Liam Baker for example). A few goals for Baker and a cheeky one from Rance for example would be worth it!

The game is a lot more defensive now than it was 10 years ago. Would be pretty hard to finish the year off with a percentage of 152. Unless you play gold coast and Carlton twice.

Lack of Pokémon Go mentions though. Mine better.

Why ?

Williamstown will be harder game than Gold Coast and we could rest him for a quarter against the Suns or play houli full foward

Only because his last game after being out for a period of time didn't end so well with him getting injured again.

If Willy is a hard game then good. He doesn't need a rest he needs to know his body can hold up.

We're going to lose - and I'll tell you why.

1967 - cruising into the finals. Our last loss was to Essendon who limped pathetically into 6th place, never challenging. We then won everything to the flag.
1969 - Massive charge into the finals, won from 4th. Our last loss was Rd 16 to Fitzroy - who finished 10th.
1973 - Getting ready for finals - last rd we play Footscray - who knock us off. Footscray finished 9th (out of 12). We go on to win the flag.
1974 - EXACTLY the same - lose the last Rd to Footscray (who admittedly scraped into 5th, but the result of the game had no bearing on either teams final placing and Footscray got smashed in their Elimination final). We go onto win flag.
1980 - we play South Melbourne (who aren't playing finals) in last Round. Guess what?
2017 - We are cruising towards September when we put in a complete disaster against Saints (who go on to finish nowhere). We win flag (yes, we lost to Geelong a few rounds later, but that spoils the joke:p).

When we win a flag, we put in an inexplicable shocker late in the season - 'the loss we had to have'. We're not losing either of the last 2 at the MCG, we don't travel well this year, and imagine the outrage on BF if we go on to win the flag after 'Losing to that Gold Coast Rabble!'.

We'll have a gold asterisk on our jumper next year:D:D:D.
