Not even half of 220 for Diggers unfortunately. There would be no club spending even half of that in my opinion and if they are then not by much.
From memory the cap goes down over a 3 year period finishing around the 100 mark.

Anyone else think Woodend might be a sneaky chance to make the 6 this year?
They will be back on their home ground which will help. Picked up Gawthrop, Toman, Arnold, Smerdon and some decent kids. Ross Sleight will hopefully play more games too. We didn't see the best of him last year. Depending on what other clubs do I think they are a big chance to sneak in. I believe they have kept most the guys from last year too.

Would have been handy if they were able to keep Hamish Govan.
Surely they didn't spend anywhere near that. They have now added $50,000 onto that budget with Moran and Hynes. Suggest 220 could be inflated maybe otherwise they are in strife.
Good question I think the top 7on the ladder from this year would have been paying some decent money as there is only 16 rounds but how much I have no idea.
Im not saying whether you are right or wrong but the top 7 clubs recruited heavily or retained players who do not live in the area some can travel up to 50klms or more just to go to training.As a lot of clubs in different leagues say they don't pay a lot I think it is a load of bullshit.When you take on sign up fees as well. I know that in another league a player just got paid 8k sign up that is 1 weeks match payments for a whole club on your figures

What is going on with romsey ?
Nearly the middle of december and still no coach , surely a club that has won back to back flags would be a bit better organised ?

Nothing surprises me these days but from memory it wasn't that long ago there was a genuine "dislike" from Romsey towards Broadford and in particularly Keston.
Two summers ago it was Austin, Henderson, Broos, Storey (and others) who were targeted which in the end it became Nick Wilson and Bryson Scales.
I know different people crave different challenges but sometimes a re-fit can be just as rewarding as coaching whoever has good money at their disposal .... or perhaps it's true that Keston is out meaning Deano would be prepared to walk in???

As for your theory let me say the first part what I portrayed two years ago has come to fruition the truth of what took place the dislike was from a small group .....
As for Deano have had many conversations with Deano over the last two and a half years and in particular the last couple of weeks and consider him as he does me a friend as for Deano walking in with me going out is that far from the truth the question at the moment is more how we move forward with the fit suiting dean and his family, the footy club broadford
And as is my decision on what I do will firstly take in family work and health and what broadford require from me and if I can deliver that again ...
That's where it is at as for romsey I have no hatred towards the club or players and 98% of the people about the club in actual fact as a person would speak to any one at the club they are having some tuff times and hope they take the right path
Dean helmers made himself available and that is where it is at
It's only footy in the end merry Xmas all hope you all stay safe enjoy some time with family

Keston, no one said he wasn't, however the fact that no one has come out and said he is leads people to ask questions. It's a very very long process to be taking place, not that there is anything wrong with that however Most clubs would be breaking up for Christmas later this week / early next week and from all reports the club that has won the last two flags have yet to confirm their coach, Helmers or otherwise and now Broadford who have been linked to Helmers and Skip not confirmed to go again.
Who has been taking the pre Christmas training up at Broadford Keston ?
It has absolutely nothing to do with rumour mongering as you put it.
It's a very strange and unique situation, surly you agree with that.

Let's put it this way dean become available why wouldn't you investigate all possibilities the club has to be put first and decisions will in due time be made that will benefit the longevity of the club
Deano like myself and others have families professional commitments and a life so all these things have to aligne in order to alow us to deliver what we are employed to do so once all boxes are ticked answers will be given otherwise we are all guessing but yes discussions are in process

Lot of discussion on hear. I was on this early but didn't mention any club names, as that's private. Let's all take it easy as if I'm on the mail the ball is with Romsey. But they need to hurry up or lose the best coach in the comp..

As I said in earlier post preseason training before Christmas means nothing waste of time just ask Romsey and broadford! Maybe they can do a two for one deal Keston???
