Any news out of other praccys this weekend? Heard Rupo vs Gisborne was a decent hitout. Also heard that Woodend played East Sunbury in a tight match.

How does this happen after playing finals?

Broadford Football Netball Club is in a crisis and is in desperate need of coaches and players across football and netball.

The club is desperately short on volunteers for the day-to-day running of the club.

The club is actively seeking players for its Senior, Reserves and Under 18.5s football team. It is still seeking a Reservers and Under 18.5s coach.

Broadford also needs players who would be interested in playing in its A Grade netball team, plus additional players across its B, C and Under 19 teams.

"If we cannot provide sufficient numbers by the end of March, we cannot meet our RDFNL league affiliation obligations, and therefore will not be able to compete in 2017," Broadford FNC president Greg Holcombe says.

Rupo v Gisborne was a waste of time in hindsight and if not for the hot day Rupo would have got nothing from the day. Gisborne had 13 18's players and so Rupo had to give them 3 to enable a decent enough hit out and then albeit Gisborne had mentioned they had enough players to play 6 quarters of senior n Ressies footy they turned up with approx 26. Rupo ressies played two quarters and by the time the Rupo seniors played the Gizzy boys were a bit cooked and got blown away which would be expected.
Problem you get with cricket finals, nice weather and playing outside your competition given the BFNL start later, however encouraging signs for Rupo, moved the ball well and looked fit, some nice additions at the Shark tank.

It happened to Hadfield in edfl after winning a flag in 2015, 20 + players leave then the following year the same.

They seem to be on the mend now which is good to see.

From an outsider from another league it surprises me to see a country team like broadford getting to this point, is it money? Management? Recruits?

I think the problem with Hadfield is, that most of us knew below the surface the club was in trouble and I'm not sure you'd say the same thing about Broadford.

Not that I know anything but hasn't Broadfords problem for many years disunity for want of a better word off the field. I go back to the time when I played against them and there was a faction that wanted out of the Heatchote League...a faction that wanted to stay. They haven't been stable of the field since and it's unfortunate that it's hit this crisis point

Nope haven't seen or heard of him mate. I've been to most trainings etc recently and no sign
Was it true money bags from the wrfl (deer park and marby park edfl before that) was the money man at broadford last couple years, hence the Hollande connection now he moved onto Melton south in Ballarat comp.
League supported them strongly to with kind draw they fell short so p,ayers bail, makes you wonder. I have posted before where does Hickman stand now?

Good question on Rex Hickman wasn't his Dad doing the reserves coaching? they had it on there facebook page? Now there looking for a reserves coach?

Hi guys. New to this. Just wondering, What's the reason for mass exits at Broadford FNC?
Im sure the truth will have many different views and as usual someone will be the scapegoat. It's a wonder they haven't pointed the finger at Keston he seems to be an easy target on this thread . You gotta feel sorry for big James Philpot taking on such a difficult situation. Good luck big fella !

You assuming Keston might know something Captain? He was ready to roll out some juicy stuff a while back but never did. I'm sure those in the know will speak up at the appropriate time. I thru it out there via my Facebook yesty in the hope of getting some banter and it lit up like a Xmas tree for a while which suggests to me there's enough around with opinions - and sometimes even if they don't align with the majority, some opinions need to be heard if some positive learnings can come from it.

Good luck to all involved, I'm sure there'll be a blue and white presence of some description on both the footy and netball fields this winter. Not the first club to go thru it, wont be the last it's just part of the vicious cycle that has become local football.

Wish to pass on the news that our old friend Sprechen is no longer with us .. he sadly passed away yesterday due to a bad infection.. thoughts are with his friends and family :(

Surprised to see Dawson land at Thomastown as hed put in a clearance back to Romsey?
Dont think Keston could enlighten us much on the Broadford situation as in his words he was not involved last year.Sure is a shame to hear they in for a struggle as I was told those involved where in for the long haul.Article in yesterday's local states no 2nds coach and general lack of players and helpers.Losing good young locals to Kilmore is a real slap in the face also.I hope things get sorted up there as its a proud club with many good people over the years.
