And why do you reckon that is? One person bobs back up with his usual bullshit.
I don't know who HTF is, nor do I particularly care. I do think if someone cares that much about a club it would be far more productive to concentrate their efforts in the clubrooms than on the keyboard.

I personally haven't been on here in a few years due to not having much to do with the footy (work, young family etc) but now will be getting to a few games and thought I'd try and catch up on the goings on in the league. Not learning much. It's a shame coz this used to be a good community with mostly informative and friendly banter.

Welcome back mate. :thumbsu:

Few more than 5 or 6 from last year in the side, but there was certainly an element of many of the boys not standing out last year. Appreciate the feedback from everyone. The club is stoked to have the monkey off the back early with a great win and the club rooms were certainly rocking on Saturday night.

No illusions though, we still have a lot of work to do, both on and off field.

Great to see Keston back too, lets see how long this little run lasts for.

Congratulations on the win. I know very well the feeling of being at a battling club. A win is just such a sweet reward for everyone that fronts up week in week out and those behind the scenes that work their arses off. Wins get taken for granted if you are lucky enough to play in a good side but those like the one you had on the week no mean the world

It was a fantastic feeling, no doubt. There is no doubt our plans will take time, but we are heading in the right direction and really enjoyed seeing the young blokes that went through the on field pain last year rewarded with a win on the weekend, and a few of the older blokes.

Doona you wouldn't say that to me if you new who I was
Let's move on to the footy then

Wouldn't I? Someone who masquerade's like this I doubt would even identify themselves if the opportunity presented.
The fact you wanna bag Skip etc under an alias suggests I'd probably say your weak as pi$$ to your face too, like I have several others in recent years.

Macedon v Rupo (unless weather intervenes) promises to be a beauty tomorrow. Plenty of handy players, Macedons top end real good, Rupo extremely even across the board. Whichever mob can extract the most out of players 16-22 in the pecking order might hold sway.

Good luck to both clubs

Spot on Doons, hopefully the weather doesn't intervene, as it shapes up as a cracker game.

Weather doesn't look great unfortunately, which is a real shame, because this game would have been fantastic to watch in the dry. Both sides should be at the business end of the season, it'll still likely be a cracking match up. I'll stick with the Cats, because I have them as my premiership fancy right now.

Believe that the Sharks might have a couple of key outs with Dean Putt and Jesse Wallin.

Spewing Ill miss it actually, as I have to watch the Bombers give the Pies a touch up Doona2

Geez your good IMS caught up with someone with ties to the Sharks today a bit concerned about a couple .... you gotta get back on here with your footy goss so Slyone can roll out the usual response you "FREAK" :D

I'm torn between going to Macedon or the G so might have to toss a coin mid morning, unless Cox is out then I'm heading south ha ha

Won a couple of AFL Members tickets on Facebook, so pumped to take my little bloke along to a great Essendon Victory.

It's good to be back on, hoping to have some more time in the coming weeks to contribute.

The banter about whether Keston is back or not is pretty ordinary.. can't see why it lasted a few pages..
How inspiring were Wallan on the weekend .. if you look at courage, to see that club bounce back like it did with the loss of a fallen comrade, it's unbelievable.
There was a lot of hurt in the rooms before and after the game on Saturday, but to be able to switch into football mode and win a game is amazing.
Congratulations to Rockbank too.. there was great glimpses of brilliance in round one and see it continue on the weekend is terrific. It's a testament to everyone involved and a sign that if you stick to your plan, good things will happen.. and that includes getting an A Grade netball side up.
I'm really confident that the league as a whole will be stronger going forward.

I think the concern, certainly for me mate, is for country footy in general. Without putting too fine a point on it, money is damaging country footy and the powers that be need to find a way to curb the trend. Gone are the days of blokes playing for their home team from unders to seniors because they love their club, only leaving for an opportunity at a higher level and coming home to finish their careers. Now it's a bidding war, loyalty to a cheque book not a jumper, playing a lower standard for more money in some cases. And I can't blame any player for lining their pocket. I don't have the answer, but there needs to be a meeting of minds at a high level to address this issue. Just my take.

I agree, no need for banter or debate to last pages, the answer is obvious.

Hi Chris got a question to ask understand you are involved at headquarters what is the situation with the salary cap how is it being policed ? Is it implemented This season and what happens if it is breached ?

Salary cap ?

Salary cap ?
It's very hard to police a salary cap properly at any level much less country footy but yes it's necessary. Points system is designed to help too. As I said, I don't have an answer, there may not be one, but too often we see clubs in the same boat as Broadford. The cycle shouldn't be so abrupt.

Hey mate, is the plan for Rockbank to move to Woodlea in the coming years. I hear 2 big new ovals the size of the MCG are being built in that estate.

My condolences to David Trimboli a past reserves player at Wallan on the sudden passing of his father Rick last night. Rick was a past sponsor at Wallan loved his football and was a mad Collingwood supporter that had a local very successful plastering business . RiP brother gone far to early .

Hi Turbo,

We're certainly in discussions with the league and the developer. I think it'll likely be the junior side first that moves over there though.

Yes it is implemented. It will be policed with contract submissions and individual club audits. AFL Victoria investigators have full authorisation to completely audit a club and will do so based on information gathered.

The simple fact is, the only breach that can be discovered can be at the end of the year. Because until a club has exceeded their salary cap in actual payments, they are not in breach.

Breaches will be dealt with by AFL Victoria.
