I find Ash to be an amazing coach and a great guy off the field .. for anyone that has watched the Tigers play this year, they have seen that they are playing an exciting and competitive brand of football. I really enjoy watching them play, hence why we've covered many of their games. We've broadcast next to Ash a number of times and I find his coaching to be instructive and important to bringing that success.
He is in a hard position because clubs do get measured by the success of the Senior team.. if the numbers on the track were greater each night ... the team could be more successful.. they played Riddell a few weeks ago and were the better team on the day, they also pushed Diggers Rest.. so they can run with the best.. now with what's happened with the Reserves, I'm not sure.. but I've spent a lot of time with Ash and I couldn't speak highly of him.. if he had the commitment of the cattle during the week, the team was winning more games.. the success would appeal to more players from the outside and provide a greater advertisement to bringing in more juniors and senior players.. the Tigers are capable of playing finals.. and when they do get there.. expect more players to come to the club..
I agree ChrisThaLedg. The boys are listening well to Ash and the fans seem pleased he recruited the current season leading goalkicker to the club. If blokes trained the Tiges would be amongst it. I've heard Ash tell the boys to get back to the rooms for a drink, home and away and encourage them to get to functions. As for the ressies who refused to help out and play seniors for a game when numbers were low, they need to take a good hard look at themselves and put the club before themselves- wonder if they are paid up members???I find Ash to be an amazing coach and a great guy off the field .. for anyone that has watched the Tigers play this year, they have seen that they are playing an exciting and competitive brand of football. So Norman I ask you a question as per my last post what can you suggest they do to help there cause and perhaps other clubs can take a page out of what you suggest that are heading in the same direction have you some positive feed back that doesn't involve the only answer being $$ or blaming volunteers ?Chris, you do a great job with within the RDFL and you never have a bad word to say about anyone....but facts are facts mate....the Tiges are in strife. You have used 3 'ifs' above, and as the saying goes "if my mother had balls, she'd be my dad"....but she hasn't, and the Tiges Don't have the numbers on the track, they don't have the commitment, and they aren't winning games. There are big issues at Lancefield, no 16's or 18's, and will do well to field a ressies team for the remainder of the year. I've also been told that Ash may not be the problem at the club, but higher up!
On a lighter note....great to see Kestons self imposed ban again....only to "like" the 2 very next posts..haha
Hi lads after watching from a distance thought I might get on board and have a say after what has unfolded in the past couple of years clubs like lancefield will struggle not having under 18s and 16s so the only other option is to look outside so it means they need $$$$ so what can be done to help clubs struggling like this see a lot of negative reaction towards clubs like lancefield who have ad least tried somthing
Macedon and broadford have improved and obviously like a lot off the top clubs had to recruit and start to go to the next level but are again criticised on this forum for doing so
Also when clubs do spend $$$ that have struggled then they are attacked on this forum
So does the rdnfl need to go to two grades will the new point system help
if not there may be clubs going to the wall and people who have made efforts at these clubs are bagged out may start to walk and create a larger problem
Any constructive thoughts
On a guess looking at past posts and comments you are involved at the romsey football club and you talk about culture the $$ plays a major roll at that club ad least in the last 3 years go through the list of players there that have come and gone culture is somthing that is ingrained and comes thru juniors to seniors there are some kids ad least now given a crack with the new system but they have lost many kids over the last few years to senior footy and it's not just happening at one club but it's through out footy at this timeI have had a look back through this thread and i cant find any criticism towards the Macedon Football Club. Can you copy and paste what you are referring to? Culture at a club is a big thing, players at some clubs are chased with huge offers to leave and stay for less because they are happy at there club. Money plays a big part, but if a player is not happy at the club they need to be moved on.

You haven't answered my question you say culture I say poppy **** that's a excuse to cover the real state of play
I know a number of people at many clubs all clubs have internal issues but push for one goal it wasn't long ago the romsey folk and others where giving it to lancefield for over spending to win a flag
So ask those out there what do you believe is the answer two grades point system both or somthing else ???
I'm still waiting for you to show me where this forum had bagged macedon for recruiting. It's great to see some disgruntled Lancefield players training at the Redbacks and already enjoying the club. Maybe Lancefield should consider folding again for a year. It worked wonders for them last time they pulled the plug.On a guess looking at past posts and comments you are involved at the romsey football club and you talk about culture the $$ plays a major roll at that club ad least in the last 3 years go through the list of players there that have come and gone culture is somthing that is ingrained and comes thru juniors to seniors there are some kids ad least now given a crack with the new system but they have lost many kids over the last few years to senior footy and it's not just happening at one club but it's through out footy at this time

Wow keston is on another self imposed ban , and strikingslug pops up joins yesterday and is already having sly digs at romsey !
Strange.......
This is why I watched from a distance and why good people get sick of putting in the time and effort you lads should be ashamedI'm still waiting for you to show me where this forum had bagged macedon for recruiting. Oh please I will tell you something positive Macedon is the best side that ROMSEY have played this year. As for any team in the RDFL if you don't have the player numbers to put 3 sides onThis is why I watched from a distance and why good people get sick of putting in the time and effort you lads should be ashamed
Have you got a positive word in you
Wasn't the question asked in my first post you seem to answer a lot with further questions or statements not a productive suggestion as I said it's disappointing the attitudes of a fewOh please I will tell you something positive Macedon is the best side that ROMSEY have played this year. The park on Saturday especially reserves and seniors your club is in deep shit.
Let me say if you read the post you would see it was a intelligent guess and not a sly crack at any one but a generic discussion as for Keston reading a lot of his post probably in courage me to get on here as he speaks a lot of truth and fact and if you read this Keston PM me I would like to discuss a few things with you considering these lads seem to jump at shadows each time you postWow keston is on another self imposed ban , and strikingslug pops up joins yesterday and is already having sly digs at romsey !

Still waiting for you to show me as you stated in your earlier post where this forum criticised Macedon? Hey Keston / Striking Slug, thanks for giving me a laugh today. PMSL. I love it how both of you write with the same poor spelling and grammar - it really does give you away buddy.Let me say if you read the post you would see it was a intelligent guess and not a sly crack at any one but a generic discussion as for Keston reading a lot of his post probably in courage me to get on here as he speaks a lot of truth and fact and if you read this Keston PM me I would like to discuss a few things with you considering these lads seem to jump at shadows each time you post

It's called a WINNING CULTURE which is a huge problem for clubs like yours!!!!!
