Omni's Tips for Round 15.

Macedon to bounce back at home & get the chocolates in a close one over a very determined Lancefield out fit by 11 pts.

Woodend on cruise control to be to strong for Sunbury at Gilbert Gordon tomorrow by 38 pts.

Wallan to be to strong in the midfield & up forward over an undermaned Kilmore, with Whiteway, Fowler, Cornish & the Henderson twins getting plenty of it, Pies by 30 pts.

Romsey & Rockbank to contest the worst Jumper in the Comp Cup, with Redbacks to crawl over the line by 29 pts.

Riddell resting a few players, to get a real scare at home at the hands of an ebullient Melton line up featuring in form stars, Chugg, Wheelahan, Nankervis & Bullen........ before steadying & recording a hard fought win by 116 pts.

Good Luck All. :thumbsu:

Well done Kanga's getting up on Woodend. WOW who was it that predicted Rockbank will win a game before the season end. And their 2's got up as well....... Time to sack the Romsey coaches....... Can't get any lower than to lose against a side that had struggled to win a game for years.

Whats the go with the rdfl seniors ladder on the website, it has lancefield and woodend/hesket with a draw against each other???

well they say a week is along time in footy but i would like somrone to explain to me where the macedon side that beat lacefield came from:they were committed with head over the ball football and actually looked like they wanted to get hold of the ball, big difference from week before as for lancfield if every player put in just a little bit of what no 29 and 14 put in they would be a lot lot better off.

I DID, I DID, But it wasn't Romsey I thought they would get up against..... So I think they will win another one too before the season is out !
Bet some piss got sunk in the old Caravan Park last night.

Macedon v Lancefield

In a Season defining clash which was paramount to both teams finals aspirations it was Macedon who hit the ground running kicking the first 4 goals of the game. Lancefield who were without the services of in form ruckman Tom Waters were powerless to stop Macedon big man Brennan Beal from giving their onballers first use of the ball at the stoppages. Young Sean Kennedy was getting plenty of it & his explosive pace was proving a head ache for the Tigers, as was ball magnet James Wright, who some pundits believe may be a chance of taking out this years Bowen Medal. Jae Wilton continued his great form of recent weeks kicking a fine running goal off halfback & the “ Big Rig “ James Mcarther was presenting well up forward taking strong marks & kicking 2 majors. Then inexplicably Beal was taken from the ground & Lancefield stepped up & started to find plenty the ball. Trailing by 25 points Chris Collins led from the front ably assisted by evergreen Simon Choate & livewire Myles Dorman started pumping the ball forward late in the first quarter to their teams advantage where classy forward Rick Dowling seemingly unchecked kicked 3 valuable goals, putting Lancefield well & truly back in the contest at the first break only trailed by 5 points.

The second quarter was pretty much a scrappy affair with both teams trying to gain the ascendancy, Beal was back & dominating the ruck but both mid fields were fighting hard for his tap outs. Collins & Choate were still hard at it as was Wright & Kennedy for Macedon. Lancefield added 2 more goals for the quarter with Dowling getting his fourth whilst Macedon also put through 2 with Scott Knight slotting an inspirational one off the ground late in the term. At the main break Macedon lead 6 . 1 . 37 to Lancefield 5 . 5 . 35, all the signs boded well for a ripping second half !

They say games of footy are won & lost in the third quarter…………………… & that’s exactly what happened.
Beals tap outs started to become more accurate & find Macedon players more often, breaking the contest wide open.
Wright had the ball on a string & Kennedy was still getting possessions as well as shutting Choate down. Macedon were about to blow Lancefield out of the contest. Chris Collins tried valiantly but his side was over run by a more desperate Macedon outfit in the third quarter. David Pante was moved forward in what could be said was a match winning move by Macedon coach Dave Goodwin, Pante starred booting three goals for the quarter whilst Macarther added another. Macedon had kept Lancefield scoreless & set up a match winning break of 28 points leading 10. 3 . 63 to Lancefields 5 . 5 . 35. at the final change.

The last quarter was pretty much a rudimentary exercise with both teams sharing the honors, Lancefield booting 3 goals – 2 more to a rampant Dowling, giving him 6 for the game & one to Collins, capping off a stella performance. For Macedon Pat Taylor chimed in with 1, Pante got another, giving him a total of 4 in a game turning effort. Whilst the “Big Rig” Mcarther added another, finishing with 4 as well.

Final Scores; Macedon - 13 . 4 . 82 Defeated Lancefield - 8 . 7 . 55

Goal Kickers. Macedon - Mcarther - 4, Pante - 4, Kennedy, Wright, Wilton, Taylor & Night - 1.
Lancefield - Dowling - 6, C. Collins & S. Choate - 1.

Best Players for mine…. Macedon – Beal ( B.O.G.), Wright, Kennedy, Mcarther, Pante & Wilton.
Lancefield – C. Collins, Dowling, Choate, Plowman, Perry & T. Collins.

Well done to sunbury kangaroos on the weekend good win over woodsy, the hawks didnt play their best game obviously but thats not to take anything away from sunbury who did really well and could cause some troble in the finals if th dont get any injuries.
big upset over at rockbnak well done to the rams well deserved boys.

I saw the ladder that someone predicted, has anyone worked out from the last 2 games who can finish where and what hapens if certain teams win or lose. it looks like ridell will play woodsy, 1 v 2 and im guessing sunbury and diggers will finish 3rd and 4th.

And is anyone gong to put up bowen and finals odds if matt nicholss is away?

1 v 2
3 v 6 - Elimination
4 v5 - Elimination

Left with 4 teams after week 1.

Highest winner plays the winner out of 1 and 2. Winner of this game into the granny - Loser with another chance.

Lowest winner plays the loser of 1 and 2 in an in another knock out final. Winner to play the loser of the above game to go into the Grand Final.

it was a great game sunbury vs woodend.very fast and super physical. a good effort by woodend 2 fight back also.midway through the last term it looked like the kangas were heading towards a ten goal win.obvious players missing were lacy and sipthorpe 4 woodend, and matt welsh 4 the kangas.

As discussed at the start of the year about the finals system
I thought 1v2 to go to a second semi and loser to first semi
3v6 winner to second semi, loser gone
4v5 winner to first semi loser gone
and then into your normal final system
I didnt think they went with the highest winner to play the winner of 1v2
Does anyone know what the final system is ??

As previously posted on this thread and as posted on the official RDFL website the finals system is
