Interesting statement seeing as though Plant didn't play 1 game last year, commo played about 4 games and Edwards about 10 yet they still made the GF. Yeah morgs and connellan will be a loss but matt mclellan and the other recruits i think can fill the void. right them off at your own peril.......

maybe not having rob plant there last year cost them the flag(no toughman in the backline).while spooka edwards is a past bowen medallist, and commo can kick bags. has done it many a time against the burra

Gisborne, also known as Shyteville or Poxtown, play in the Bendigo league. And half it's players and the majority of it's supporters are called "dum dum".

Don't have a case of the tall poppies do you mate, Its the same with any area where 1 team dominates. They are hated by opposition. People just love knocking success.

As for the town itself, I moved here a year ago and I couldn't think of a better place to live. Great place, good people, fresh air . Life couldn't be better

You wouldn't be from sunbury by chance??

seen the new coach & president talking to some young players down town today any leeds who spoke4923

Whereabouts did you see them hawkeye? A bit of a rumour pods has got a few mates from vermont thinking about coming up the highway. Not sure omn any names but a ruckman who stands about 6'6 and came top three in their b&f last year. Pretty sure Pods has committed and seems to be confident about bringing a few back.

Interesting reading in Z files( THE GUARDIAN ) re Kynetons reluctance to clear players Nev must be wondering about his coaching methods and communication skills

Apparently Nev is responsible for the clearances being rejected and a couple of the players rejected have said no one from kyneton has even bothered to contact them. You'd think if they were going to reject the clearances the least they could do is have a crack at hanging onto them. Seems a bit petty from old Nev...

Can confirm Joel Goodyear is playing at woodend, as well as trav Leggett. Pods (Paul Podbury) is definitely coming back and at least one of his mates from Vermont is also joining the nest. March is said to be all ball work after Feburary focusing on running and fitness. The boys are looking fit, firing and ready to go! Over and out.

Without turning this into a Woodend forum i can confirm that 12 new senior players will wearing the brown and gold this year. For those who will think this rubish here they are Paul Podbury (former B&F player), Rick Dowling (former B&F player from Kyneton), Danny and John Clark ( fittest blokes at the club at the minute from kyneton) Mick and Joel Goodyear (out of retirement and from Gisborne), Dale Cuunik (kyneton), Karl Ng (former premiership player-played at parkside last year), Daniel Sandles( played at Gisborne and V.F.L reserves last year gun C.H.F), Brendan Beale ( Good Ruckman), Michael Lacey (Vermont seniors-two years ago 6ft 2 player that can play anywhere), Travis Legget (former u18 league B&f-played at Pascoevale last year) Daffy Fowler still a chance but not certain. Matty Loughnane (fomer premiership player) still a good chance but not certain. The club is not getting carried away with new and old blood-but working their arse off on the track.

Gee whiz, that's an impressive list! Everything on the track is positive and to top it off, the local woodsmen have hijacked this thread! Bring on 2006! Apparently the coaching committee are losing patience with Nev and his band up the highway. Any word if any others from Vermont are joining Woodend this year Woody?

i witnessed training last night down at Gilbert Gordon Oval, there would of had to be at least 35 boys out on the track for the brown and gold! what i like the most about woodends prospects are that along with all this new blood coming into the group, all of last years crop are still there. so its not going to be a completely different side rather it will just be bolstered immensly.

The other two or three Vermont guys are a good chance but not certain my sources tell me. Apparently fringe senior players- but as we know the club with the greatest quality depth is the team that often poses the greatest threat to the premiership. Unfortunately some local talent, woodsman may have to make way for better players-That's footy!!!

Mick Lacey a former Murray Bushranger and Finley boy can play!!! Big plus for the boys down in misty creek!!!:thumbsu: As for the others being fringe at Vermont means you will be a gun in this league, the Eastern League is a very good standard.

I believe Timmy will be playing at Macedon...

Would Timmy still be available for the Under 18's at Macedon? Had a terrific season with the Mores, played a significant role in their premiership side
