Yep Grigg got a week, interesting result to be completely honest. Oh well you get that dontchya. Anyone seen the footage, not sure it was a strike?

Footage I saw was hard to see as it was somewhat blocked by other bodies but it was not a strike. There was a very similar bump up the other end that was missed.

Hang on Dave it wasn't that long ago I attended a meeting with yourself, Skip, Hally and Gav and there were 3 young Romsey kids in the venue as potential recruits, and then other Redback names like Henderson, Austin etc were all mentioned as "targets" ... whats the difference?

We got to late Feb in 2008 at Broadford before we learnt that a handful of senior players were heading to Bonnie Doon and good on them as they were rumerated better than we could meet, it happens and its much easier to recruit a car load than individual blokes from here/there and everywhere.
Those boys went had some success and most came back to play at home again. Timing was crap for our young kids as we thought we had a real window based around a dozen grown men but we didn't let it define us.

Not to this reported magnitude but a lot of clubs go thru. Broadford mutliple times over the years have had to withold a few weeks payments until some off field commitments were met to local traders .. and then they square up before AGM time in order to finalise that year's business.
Would Like to also ask do you feel the same way to Dean Helmers ( sorry deano) but he is the recruit king

My early post shows the quality of people when bs is to the wall you roll up the sleeves and chip in not worry about your own back yard and help out a fellow neighbour.
Would be great to see a club be supported without the $$ in payments by players to save there plight.

Not quite sure but from where I sit, Kyneton is not a neighbour, nor does if form part of the RDFNL. Perhaps they should be ? As I previously suggested, they need to review their business model and 5 year plan. Perhaps City Hall could get off their clacks and speak to them about joining the RDFNL.

Romsey where not on there knees like Kyneton but in a premiership window think your putting a totally different spin on it.
Was meaning targetting the one club.

Feel what way? No secrets there was a fall out of some description at Broadford, but that's got nothing to do with me any of that.

Was it a targetted attack on club like the Romsey to Broadford attempt a while ago? I'm not sure, I'd more suggest those lads had intended to play under Dean at Broadford in 2017 and then decided to still do so when he moved north to Roota’s mob.

Please don't attempt to stir things up between me and Dean Dave, I used to talk regularly with Dean about all things footy well before he joined at Peddo at Romsey ... after first meeting him/IMS/Jarrad Dixon and co. at a practice game at Kings Park 10-11 years ago, and I’m sure Roota will support in saying we spoke about Deano and Lalbert as they were previously known a fair while before they got their man this time round.

Didn’t even contemplate that !
I speak to dean on a regular basis even have spent time at swan hill watched a few games this season, I know like dean a comment like that wouldn’t even get dean thinking that way.
my point is that generally if players move they may bring a mate hendo and austin where good mates, the other lad had only played a handful of games at romsey the previous season.
Time to move back to finals conversation to many sensitive men on here .

Perhaps gold fields could wake up and smell the stench there creating

Yeah correct it wasn't a strike and there was a bump just as bad up the other end by a serial offender that will result in the player who copped it most likely missing this week, not sure of why no send off nor report. Seems very strange.

He's a genius if he can go from the bump position to hitting a guy and returning to the bump position in the space of less that a second. Sounds suspiciously like someone was bulltishing at the tribunal. Hopefully the Karma Bus is in the area in the coming games
Yeah wasn't a strike, it was all wrong to be honest, umpire talked into the report by the Riddell supporters in the pocket it is said, dumb send off and report, obviously the players code doesn't exist anymore, well not by all clubs.

DavidG im sure many posters (myself included)are critical of rdfnl and goldfields re some matters but Im continually surprised by your references to goldfields when Broadford and now Kyneton are mentioned.
Broadford and Kyneton are on struggle street due to no other persons fault bar the clubs administration.
Some clubs seem to throw around $$$like its confetti (Bonnie Doons another)and when the moneys gone it’s someone elses fault. Is Carltons last 20 year spiral the Afl fault? You make many good points but on this your off the mark.

Sounds like hes unlucky to cop a week however not sure its a problem for Rupo.Im certain when he was recruited the clubs expectations would of surpassed his output? For a Key forward dont offer much.Different forward setup may help and definitely wont worsen their chances.

Is it one or 2 changes for Rupo?
Will Chambers play? I text a mate Saturday asking how he was moving and was told he didn't play the game out.
Hoping to catch second half on Saturday on way home and hoping Chambers plays he's my favourite Rupo player.

With Grigg out, does Todd Podz return to where he's been most dangerous in recent times?
Such a hard match up when isolated within 25-30m of goal.

Exactly what my thoughts were on Saturday Doona.

Todd is one of the toughest forward match ups in the competition, he reminds me of trying to find a match up for Matt Davo. Rupo just lost that feel going forward of being truly dangerous without Todd inside 50.

More than two I would imagine for sure, Todd must play fwd, closer to goal and is a difficult matchup for sure. I always thought Luke Saunders the best local/rural marking player I'd seen, Chambers well I'll be he is a freak.

Tried to use him up the ground with more fwd options and play a game like his brother did, but ur correct for sure he is very dangerous closer to goal and with pace n sure hands a difficult matchup. Needless to say this weeks Rupo outfit will be very different set up to that which met Riddell. I think Diggers get up by 17 in the other game.

When I quote I quote generically the reason Kyneton was mention was in regards to a previous quote you must agree no one wants to see clubs go to the wall don’t no about Kyneton financial reasons, but know broadford fall was not financial at all ( well wasn’t when I left and Deano and skip coached together) I know the exodus of players was for in house reasons.

What were the reasons?I am always interested in how moments are remembered.I have no idea, but i have seen many stories written and spoken about which were not true, and i was actually there.History revisited is always interesting.

Not the place to put this laundry on call me if you want to know.

Riddell by 34 and Macedon by 10

Diggers by 21
Can stretch the Riddell backline. Burra forward line have a lot of options. Is unpredictable.
Rupo by 4.
Grigg out is a positive IMO.
T.Pods playing deep is better value for the Sharks but the Cats coming good at the right time.
Not much in both games.
Looking forward to them.

Was there vision of the incident at all? Match replay? If so at what time?
There was but it didn't matter, like it didn't matter also that the player that got struck was different on the two reports, heard that the player who got struck gave pretty damning evidence about the incident and the effects of same albeit will probably play this week, unlike the Rupo player that will miss after Riddell serial offender nearly knocked him into next week at the opposite end earlier in the game.
