Just saying, not up to whites to determine what is racist or not.

You're 100% spot on EP, racism is in the eye of the beholder. I'd just be interested to see who actually shat out this notion of "virtual black face", as I have my scepticism that someone who is black actually felt offence. I think it's more likely some skinny white dude is trying to impress the beautiful black woman in his office by inventing a new form/platform of racism.

so I'm trying to find the name of an old cartoon think it was on cheese tv back in the day. A kid gets a box from a magic/joke shop that turns insects into human like creatures. The owner of the shop steals the box back makes his on creatures and they fight. When the owners creatures are defeated they shrink and the boy puts them in jars. It's been driving me nuts

It would literally be a small handful of people with extreme interpretations of things, which a conservative tabloid has latched onto in order to create clickbait articles, knowing that people are going to lose their shit in outrage over ‘political correctness gone mad’.

These tabloids have just swapped out their army of paparazzi photographers with a bunch of hacks who scour social media for anything that will create a nice clickbait outrage article.

You are absolutely right. News.com is the classic example, it's full of this sh*t.

Digital blackface is a farce.

I googled it and read an article on it not printed in a Murdoch publication (I admit my first reaction was "this is bollocks", but I've learned to ignore those and like to actually read something written by an intelligent person on the topic first before deciding), and the reasoning is subtle and interesting.

Also black people are not telling us to carte blanche stop doing it, they'd just like us to think first about whether we're reinforcing black stereotypes first.

I'm sure the subtlety will get lost in the angry right wing commentary reaction though :)

I like how to the far left anything other than agreeing with your views is considered angry right wing commentary.

This is a gif I often like to use when someone is being salty or a sook. The fact it's a black woman is irrelevant to the point I am making. Is this an example of digital blackface and if so, why?

Answer your own question. Does it play up enduring perceptions and stereotypes about black expression?

I'm on a hiding to nothing here though so this will be my last post on the topic.
