How long until Labor snipes Albo? I'll be generous and give him half a term

This annoys me the most about Australian politics - we vote for a party thinking that a certain person is going to be prime minister. I think it's horribly shit that the party that holds majority can then decide to change its leader when they feel necessary, thus changing the prime minister.

Liberals conveniently change it right after then :D

Oh man. 🤦 However, definitely something to be said for political stability. It's gotta be incredibly hard to get anything done when you're being knifed by your own party. They owe it to the public to make good on promises and not be bogged down on internal conflict.

PM is a figurehead role that doesn't really exist. Let them fight.

You can see that someone that cares very little about politics (90% of the voters in this country) bases their vote on a political party leader. Not ideal that it can be changed by the party.

The different parties have different rules about changing leadership but they both have made it a lot harder to do now. So you shouldn't see a Rudd/Gillard situation happen again

It's still in their hands though, right?

Labor's made it such an ordeal (caucus vote + party members vote) that I can't see them bothering while in power. It's basically an extra election campaign.

Liberals the leader has to be hugely unpopular, not just facing 50%+1, but it's easier than for the ALP.

Nope that's just about ideal. Screw those people with a big pointy implement.

The important thing is UAP and Pauline Hanson did bugger all yet again. Maybe time to give it away.
There were easily deceived racist shitkickers in the past, and there will be easily deceived racist shitkickers in the future.

The next sentence can be read two ways, and both are equally correct - One Nation and the UAP are going nowhere.

Would love to see the figures of cash raised vs cash spent and how much gets pocketed at the end

Nah mate nah, those other parties are all the same mate, these guys at least give a toss about the little guy, the average bloke on the street. Don’t be a sheep mate.

Had a workmate’s 30th tonight, people from work there of all ages, voting preferences etc

Hearing each of them tell a story about bagging out their UAP how to vote volunteer warms the heart. They really do Unite Australia, you have to give them that.

Im guessing Lidia Thorpe is more your type of racist?

How so and do you know when that came in?

I wonder if the general public would've preferred to retain Turnbull over Scomo (not that it was the public who booted him)

No… Turnbull as he has since proven was in the wrong party to begin with..

Bigfooty mod making baseless claims of racism against people who's political views don't align with their own. Name a more iconic duo.

I voted for UAP today friends. Not for any reason in particular other than that everyone on here has taken delight in past days bragging about how they awesome they are for thinking about sticking it to the UAP how to vote card holder or whatever, and because McGowan felt it necessary to say this today after someone in at the polling station in Rocko dared to "abuse" him by asking why he can go to the footy with no mask on but can't have a job.

“The thing about the Clive Palmer party is they just attract a bunch of people who are very unusual and very odd,” Mr McGowan said.

“They don’t have any valid points on anything.”

Utterly classless and unnecessarily divisive stuff. My valid point is this though: the vote I cast for UAP counted for absolutely nothing anyway, I don't care who runs the country between Labor and Liberal as it makes very little actually difference, and I find it amusing that Clive sued McGowan and look forward to more of their feuds in future. Therefore showing a bit of love and appreciation for ol Clive was warranted in my book.

Now, if someone would care to inform me how voting for UAP is makes me a racist I will take that under advisement for the next election cycle and return to voting #1 for the anti cylclist party. Curious to know if Clive has ever made a racist statement, is this sentiment just because he rags on the Chinese Communist Party? He literally put a Chinese national from WA into the Senate back in the day did he not? Or is this just a rich white billionaire with a platform so must be a racist kind of thing? Or a Liberal Party is a bunch of racist white dudes, Clive did preference deals with Liberal, therefore he is a racist too thing?
