I work in a closed environment where, up until last week, we were still PCRing every week. That’s sure helped - the early detection from colleagues

Other half is immunocompromised from cancer so we’ve had to be pretty cautious - haven’t exactly been hermits though - just avoided the high risk stuff like going to the football

Everyone bar the nearly 8yr old has had the vid. Wasnt much of an issue for us.

8-10 weeks later a flu strain fkd us over. Took me 4 wks to shake the bloody cough
I think in hindsight I had the flu too.
Started with a bit of stomach reflux, ended up spending a week in bed basically just sleeping.
Up until yesterday I was still coughing up goo - but I had that second 24 hour cold in the middle there 4 weeks after the flu

I doubt it. Never been a close contact, typically avoid common areas at the office (if not working from home) and was religious about not using my bare hands to press buttons or open doors even before the pandemic (there is nothing worse than being sick when you live alone).

I've always loved the idea of living alone.

I reckon its probably less good than I imagine it though

If you don't like frozen leftovers then food planning is difficult. I don't need two cos lettuces but that's the only way they sell them. One steak, not two. Half an onion. All recipes assume that you want to feed four people.

Then when you're sick there's no one to get you food so you don't eat because you're too sick to cook or even get drive through. If you run out of medicine you have to go to the chemist yourself. There's no one to complain to about how sick you are. I take twice as long to get over colds as I used to because I don't eat enough when I'm sick for my body to fight back.

The secret is to just eat enough for four people.
