Some of you have older posters may know/recall that I used to be involved in building in Broome in a past life (that ended 8 and a half years ago)

In the first year or so it wasn’t unusual to get a call from a past customer looking for information but those calls stopped a long time ago as you’d expect

Last week I get a voice message from a lady looking for replacement tiles for a house built in 1993/94. I forgot to respond as it wasn’t high on my list of priorities and didn’t end up calling back to let her know she had no hope

Then today she rings again and I didn’t answer in time so I get a text

She sends me a picture of the tiles and says she’s chasing about 40 of them.

* me sideways

Even if I was still up there, we didn’t keep leftover tiles from builds as if usually there was only a handful that we’d leave at the house. Nevermind that the house is older than many of you and we wouldn’t have hung on to them that long or be able to find them if we did

It’s like thinking Taberner could lead a premiership winning forward line

It's more like thinking Taberner could have a 100 goal season..........

I’m just seeking guidance on how you good people would react

If you’d booked an appointment somewhere, turn up, wait 45 minutes before being told actually they forgot and they can’t fit you in til next week - on a scale of 0-10 how annoyed would you be?

In my case it was a tattoo, but apply it to anything you have to book well in advance.

How did they not inform you that your booking wasn't documented upon arrival?

'The artist was super late for my last appointment, I'm going to outsmart them by booking their first appointment of the day so I won't have to wait'

Tattoo artists arrives for their shift 20 minutes late for the appointment you've made.

I’d be strongly considering getting the tattoo elsewhere or not at all rather than going back there.

(Even though it sounds like they’re so busy they wouldn’t miss you)

When people choose a place like their back to get a tattoo it's unlikely they'll want to get it changed to elsewhere on their body.

Information that would have been good to know 45 minutes earlier

I’d be pissed

I've not gone back to places for less than this. I don't make a scene or anything, I just never go back.

I got handed a phone that had my artist on the other end telling me

I saw the message saying “wtf my first isn’t booked til 1”

No one but herself to blame, I booked directly through her

Just text her back with a picture of a crow corpse, I doubt she'll bother you again

TBH i'd struggle not to tattoo it on her forehead. I would probably win the struggle and just walk but one day i'm probably going to lose the battle and there will be some crazy national news story about an Australian under arrest in SE asia for something weird like this and it'll be me.

I'd let them know that that is no way to conduct business, then I'd call back under 3 or 4 pseudonyms and book out a whole day's worth of appointments. And go somewhere else.
This sounds like a great way to get some work done
