Don't get me wrong, was a decent movie.

Top 5 sci-fi of all time? GTFO

I love my sci-fi, watched all the highly regarded ones, and I stick by it.

Yes, Star Wars is top for cultural influence by far but on its own as a movie, it's not much chop.

Looking at the imdb top 50

I probably only rank The Matrix, Terminator 2 and Jurassic Park as indisputably far better, and although I am a big fan of Eternal Sunshine, Logan, Wall-E etc I am not sure they can be classified as sci-fi. Others can make a case like Interstellar, Arrival, Blade Runner (original and 2049), Dune etc but I enjoyed the tight and original story and the premise a lot.

In the end it's all personal opinion I guess, but yours is wrong and you should be ashamed of yourself.

Some of my faves. Pretty standard choices, mostly -

2001: A Space Odyssey
Interstellar
The Martian
The Terminator
T2
Jurassic Park
Moon
The Matrix
Alien
Arrival
Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind

Definitely Interstellar, 2001, Total Recall, Blade Runner in my top 5, there is a lot to choose from after that. Is Back to the Future sci-fi too?

Evolution - now that's some top 10 s**t!
People try to pass that off as ‘so bad it’s good’ but I think that’s just a bloody good fun movie on its own merits. It knows what it is and nails it.

Yeah I never get bored of watching it, you're spot on there.

Moon
...

The Mrs asked for the movie "Room" and somehow I ended up bringing this one home. She stills gives me shit about it despite the movie being pretty good. I think we both enjoyed Moon more than the aforementioned Room, when I finally got the right movie for comparison!

It generally only happens with repeated over heating though - it's not a given. You're likely just to have a problem with the radiator and some hose (hur hur) replacement, hopefully.

Speaking of decent sci-fi, I watched Ex Machina not that long ago. Was impressed with how good it was, seems quite underrated. Alex Garland seems to write some pretty good stuff these days.

I found the third act shit but we all have opinions I guess.

Evolution - now that's some top 10 s**t!

The ending was a bit meh and a bit slow to get going, but some great lines.

"Can I get some ice cream?"
"What flavour?"
"Doesn't matter - it's for my ass"

2001: A Space Odyssey
Interstellar
The Martian
The Terminator
T2
Jurassic Park
Moon
The Matrix
Alien
Arrival
Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind

2001 - I understand it's a classic, found it way too slow and boring for my liking
Interstellar - already mentioned as a rival
Martian - almost forgot about it, throw it in
T1 - not as good as T2 imo
T2 - best action movie of all time too - agreed
Jurassic Park - agreed, a genre standard
Moon - thoughtful and well acted, throw it in as competition too
Matrix - agreed, in fact possibly best sci fi of all time for what it wanted to do and how well it achieved it, also spawned a lot of derivatives
Alien - already mentioned as a rival
Arrival - already mentioned as a rival (pun intended)
Eternal Sunshine - not really a sci fi, more a character and relationship study, but I rank it as a top 10 of all time (imo, fight me)

Does anyone know what else can go wrong when your radiator blows up?

Depends on whether you continued to drive it and how blown up it was. Plastic ends tanks on modern radiators are not designed to last forever. If it was just leaking and needed to be replaced you should be okay. If we're talking full, rapid evacuation of coolant and the car was driven 'til it overheated then there may be some cause for alarm.

Owned my car 16 years and today was the first time it failed on me. Bloody hot day though and apparently dodging an emu may have contributed to it.

I'm going to go with number 2 though I stopped pretty bloody quickly once I noticed a problem
