Not sure why I chose to use my limited dongle data on S9 of Scrubs. Wanted to revisit it to see if it was as bad as I remembered.

It's bad, man. JFC.

The real shame is there's some good things buried deep. Drew. Cole. 'Joe' as a main character.

But the old characters, especially Kelso, hanging around like a fart in an elevator is just bizarre. Cox probably the most tolerable. Not sure why they tried to push a female JD clone as the lead.

Shows with constant flashbacks or more accurately shows that visit history to establish dialogue annoy me more than they probably should.

I say this as someone who has enjoyed Righteous Gemstones but been annoyed at how many episodes aren't in present time, laden with the current drama

It's why I couldn't get into Lost and Orange is the New Turd. Not a fan of that type of story telling unless it's done really well like True Detective S1.

I'm not saying it's bad, just that it's not for me.

Reality TV on the other hand, is bad.

Don't watch One Piece then. It's 50% flashbacks. Every character gets one. And when the main cast is done, they'll do them for the guest characters in the story arc.

There’s a lot of those mystery shows that didn’t get to wrap up on their own terms, and you wonder whether the writers had it all planned out and didn’t get to explain where it was going, or if they were just making it up as they went.

Then there’s the shows that did get to wrap up on their own terms and made it pretty obvious they didn’t have a plan. Cough Lost cough.

Rare you get one that had a plan all along and wraps up everything neatly. I think Blindspot did pretty well, can’t think of too many other examples I’ve seen.

Although not technically a mystery show, The Good Place is the example I use for a planned show where everything is wrapped up nicely.
