Genuinely hope you’re right and I’m wrong because it’s just about decided that Trump will win

And that the Republicans will have control of both houses

Going to be an interesting, and possibly disastrous, 4 years with Trump as president and no brakes
Yeah he's all but got it now

No secret I despise Trump the person, but his policies and running mates are equally as terrifying.

Among the highlights:
-His economic plan for tarriffs was roundly called disastrous by 150+ econonomists including some who had Nobel prizes. If he implements it it's going to be catastrophic for their economy and will flow on to the world from there
-Elon will use his government influences now to do what he wants and get rid of any check and balances that Space X / Tesla had
-JD Vance and his close ties to Project 25.
-RFK JR being in charge of health, oh boy. In the last few days he's talked about taking Flouride out of the drinking water and banning all vaccines (not just COVID). He's not far off prescribing a course of leaches for people when they get sick.
-Women's health rights around abortions
etc

End of the day it's a democratic election and you have to respect the results as it's what the people wanted, but wonder if people really dug deeper into Trumps policies or just got caught in his cult of personality / triggering the Dems.

Be careful what you wish for as they say

Having to console my partner over the US election. You have to wonder what affect this will have on Australia and if there’s a minority that thinks alike this will mobilize them here.

I guess having compulsory voting helps, but it’s hard to gauge.

The world will be a much better place with Trump back in power.
Amazing how so many people forget just how good it was when he was in power for 4 years.
No wars started or countries invaded.
More peace deals done than any other President.
Inflation right down, even here.
Highest employment rates and low interest rates.
Then there is all the things he was doing behind the scenes that never get discussed, good things against evil people.

If you just listen to propaganda media and news you will never know both sides of any story and therefore a lot of times miss the truth.

Surprised by the number of Eagles fans celebrating a Trump win in the US Election thread.

I probably shouldn't be.

The US people got fooled by the Democrats running an “at least I’m not trump” dementia patient at the last election.

They weren’t going to fall for it a second time when the polls showed they thought they were better off 4 years ago, seen wars break out, inflation go through the roof and copious examples of the mainstream media absolutely doctoring and cutting up footage of whatever trumps says to run a narrative for themselves… hello msnbc…

The fact Harris actually has less mental capability than the bloke who is still apparently running the show and couldn’t rely on anything less than a Teleprompter or a Hollywood or music elite trying to prop her up… ( where will all these Harris refugees go like Springsteen and Gaga. ?) means no one was going to vote for her… just like when she ran for president herself. …
The fact is she has not gone better anywhere in any state than Biden 4 years ago. … she was a lame duck.

Trump definitely isn’t perfect but he was democratically elected by both his party and the country., unlike Harris.

To be honest the only thing I care about is not having to go fight in a world war and it looked to me like that was on the cards in another democrat term and looks to be off the cards under Trump. There is literally no other reason to care from Australia and I genuinely don't.

However, vaccines aside [and remembering that Trump is still pretty proud of his covid vacacines] curious why you would think taking fluoride out of the water would be a bad thing? I don't drink tap water personally because it tastes like shit and has far worse things in it than fluorine, but there's fluoride in the toothpaste I use twice a day not sure why anyone would care if they stopped putting it in drinking water? The NIH openly publishes a study showing links between fluoride expose and reduced iq in children why's it a bad thing to be cautious about that?

Not an electric car fan but why would it be a problem for someone I assume to be on the left? [im neither] if Tesla made more electric cars? Ins't that supposed to be a good thing for global warming? And whats going to happen if Trump removes checks and balances on Space X? Isn't getting Musk shipped off to Mars with all the other transhumanists something everyone can agree should happen as soon as possible?

Apart from less wars, I think having RFK try and reduce the obesity rate in America from 80% down to something more reasonable is going to be generally a good thing that hopefully has some impacts here. From what I can see all he's really talking about doing is bringing tallow back for McDonald's fries and trying to stop the psychos at Monsanto drying wheat by straying gallons of glyphosate onto the kernels prior to harvest, which would be illegal in just about every other country [except maybe here, idk].

Now cards on the table, I apart from not going to war with Russia or Iran I don't believe any of the above will happen under Trump and I'm not expecting it to. But if there were slightly smarter children, slightly less fat people, better tasting McDonalds, and more electric cars on the road in America I fail to see how that's a bad thing.
