We're certainly living in the worst timeline. Rich getting richer, while the rest of us struggle to get by. Nobody can afford to buy a house. Living on a planet increasing becoming less habitable thanks to climate change, that vested interests won't do anything to stop.

Anyone thinking that a supposed Billionaire who's sunk pretty much every business venture he's been involved with and his Billionaire mates (Musk, Gina the Hutt et al) are going to make their lives any better are severely deluded.

This has always been the most fascinating part of the Trump cult for me.

The US (and the world in general) has been generally resenting politicians and "the system" for a number of years leading into Trump. So there was always going to be a very likely appetite for someone who was an outsider, and would tackle the type of corruption that saw the banks get bailed out in 08. If the Democrats had any courage and foresight they would have seen this with the surge of Bernie Sanders back in 2016.

But how the billionaire real estate developer from New York that constantly avoids paying tax and contractors has managed to convince these people over the course of the past 8 years that he was one of them is beyond staggering.

In a lot of ways he is an outsider to that world, and people in Washington treating him like an outsider helped him too.

Meanwhile the Democrats were wheeling out a ****ing Cheney every chance they got.

I didn't know that existed when I made that joke and boy was I excited when that result popped up.

You probably peaked with that run of a couple of posts right there. It's a low ceiling but good for you.
