I maintain that BttF is the best of the unspoiled trilogies as a whole. Indiana Jones was close until the last 2 steaming turds ruined their legacy. Godfather and Dark Knight more outstanding individual films but not up to the standard for all three.

Throw in that timeless beauty above...

What do you mean by 'unspoiled trilogies' ? I thought I knew what you meant until you threw in IJ, which was ultimately 'spoiled'.

It must’ve been your genuine comment that caught me out

And speaking of conspiracy theories, movies and $culture shaping$ I’m still trying to figure out why John Lennon was so unhappy with Roman Polanski… ??

“John was upstairs,” Pang wrote. “Shaking with rage, he had attacked the four-poster bed and was doing his best to break loose one of the posts. ‘It’s Roman Polanski’s fault!’ he screamed. ‘Roman Polanski is to blame for everything.’”

Pang was surprised by his outrage toward Polanski. While they had met the director, Lennon had never expressed any anger toward him.

“I watched as he systematically began to demolish the room,” she wrote. “His fury was terrifying as he set about trying to destroy every object he could get his hands on. He picked up the television and hurled it against the wall. He used a lamp to smash the mirror and then hammered the lamp against a chair.”

You’d think he’d have a little more sympathy given it was the Beatles White Album that triggered Charlie and “family” to do the whole helter skelter thing, that resulted in the death of Romans wife (and Romans Baby) ?
Coincidently Romans sorry Rosemary’s Baby was shot at the Dakota, which 20 or so years later was where Lennon was shot

In my opinion the first 3 IJ movies were as good as BttF, but due to the release of the last 2 they're not really a trilogy anymore, they're part of a group of 5 and the last 2 absolutely stunk.

Re: The Godfather. Part III was, I believe, written as some sort of addendum, titled something like The Death of Michael Corleone. It was never meant to be part of a trilogy.

I can't remember if it was Coppola who claimed this, but I clearly need some sort of a fact-check on this.

Well it definitely didn't need to be made into a feature film regardless. Oh boy was it gross.

Similarly the first three Police Academy movies were top quality but the trilogy was ruined by the next four.

I still think of IJ as a trilogy in the same way that I recognise Star Wars as a trilogy. The subsequent turd-piles don't diminish the original masterpieces, just their creators.

Was this when Pang was playing under 19s for Collingwood or had he moved to comedy at this point?

I don't get it. Didn't the Dems steal the last election? Why didn't they steal this one?
Because it was made extremely clear that any election interference will be sought out and those caught will be punished and punished hard. There was a lot more scrutiny this time around with officials closely monitored. You would have to think this time around those that did and were going to again had second thoughts thinking, damn if Trump does win it mmmmm not worth it.

Weird they didn't at least try again though, considering how incredibly well they hid it last time.

I guess anyone can be an Olympic standard gymnast, mentally.
Mental gymnastics is about to gain a huge following here. It's already more popular here than ODI cricket.

You're being an arseh*le, the last election was decided by 75,000 votes across multiple swing states. This time Trump clean swept every swing state and took out the popular vote too. So far he's 3 million outright votes up on Kamala. Kamala is 10 MILLION votes behind Biden's 2020 high water mark. Whatever you want to believe, with a margin of 75,000 there is at least a conversation to be had, it's a fraction of a percent of votes. Once it gets into the millions there is no conversation.

It is both true that this time around there was increased scrutiny around potential weak points to do with voter integrity, and that 2024 was too big to rig. I mean look at this map, it's literally 20 liberal cities vs an entire country. One of the most incredible things you'll ever see in Politics.

People do understand that voters, particularly in swing states, can vote for different people from election to election, right? Total voter turnout is down compared to 2020 with nearly the entire country shifting towards Trump. That is not election interference. That is change of preference combined with apathy.

The conversation was had, across 62 different lawsuits filed by Trumps legal teams across multiple states. The end result was 61 were dismissed outright due to evidence lacking credibility and deemed frivolous by the judges (some of them Trump appointed too). The one case they did win effected very few ballots and was later overturned in the Supreme court.

The wake of Trumps stolen election cries were
-62 losses in court, zero wins
-8 lawyers sanctioned for presenting frivolous lawsuits, some of them were disbarred for their conduct or are still facing disciplinary action.
-Dominion settled with Fox News to the tune of $787.5 million (cost Tucker Carlson his job as well)
-Smartmatic still has a $2.7billion lawsuit with Fox News pending
-People like Guillani and Mike Liddell going bankrupt after being all in on pushing Trump's claims

The guy ruined lives/careers and cost companies millions of dollars (with a billion dollar case still pending) all based on claims that had zero credible evidence to back it up because his ego couldn't handle losing.

If you want a comparison, Trumps stolen election claim was as bad as the petition started by the Collingwood fan after the 2018 grand final.

Still got the racketeering case against Trump in Georgia and the Federal Prosecution case against Trump outstanding, but expect those to go nowhere now he's back in power.
