In the home I was raised, you could spend 3 hours making a meal, and if a distant cousin or friend showed up at your door when you pulled it out of the oven you would give them half and you would be ****en stoked you had someone to share it with whilst you went a little bit hungry. That's just the way it was.

Soz getting all preachy here but there's almost nothing I would've give up for family/friends.

Like I'm a wealthy person, I was brought up to share everything. Go to bed Bender_ you're drunk.

See you tomoz for the next block of games.

I miss the days when you’d go to the pub with mates and just buy jugs. If it was a big enough group you’d need to buy two at a time and there’d never be a totally empty jug on the table because someone would always be sure to grab another

And they were glass jugs not plastic ones

And you’d just ask for a jug at the bar, no need to choose which beer from a choice of 50

And it helped they were $5 jugs during happy hour

Tell me how I'm supposed to react to this:

Tonight I go to the pub with my family and in-laws. I get there and it's just me, wife and kids so I get a round for the 2 adults.

Then about a half hour later after everyone is there, I buy the 2nd round for 8 people including kids drinks.

A bit more time passes and my brother in-law buys the nest round of 8 drinks.

We eat dinner and the sister in-law gets up; flicking on her phone as per usual and returns to the table with a glass of wine and sits back down. I immediately react with "no worries I'll sort myself a drink".

Is this not piss poor self-centered behaviour? Is it not just basic good manners that if you're going to get yourself a drink then you offer to get one for the other people you're with? At home or out, it's pretty standard s**t right?

Really.
Yeah that’s woeful

So if I turned up to Bender_ HQ you’d share half of your SOO eagles guernsey?

Nah. Jokes aside. Your parents obviously did good and nailed on a good mentality which you continue on with today

I still remember the stink and uproar from Wirrapanda wearing that thing. Was beautiful.

I don't think it's even a matter of being tight, but being just completely oblivious to other people's needs/wants. Tightness is avoiding it coz of the cost, being so self-centred that you can't even recognise that there's others that may want the a drink is just *en ridiculous it makes me rage.
Did you say anything to her?

I remember those days very well, kn LOVED it.
Oh and also, the nastiest pub fight I ever saw began with one of those jugs (remember how thick the glass on the base was!) being swung as hard as the bloke could underhand and the blokes jaw on the receiving end absolutely disintegrating....Kevin Wilson and Baby Doll were there as well😂

Sharing with family and friends is 100% the way it's done, no questions asked.

I’ve added so many posters to my ignore list over the years it’s now difficult to follow half of the threads on here. Left me in a precarious position - do I delete my account again?

I'm the same. New PB was this week with a fresh account that only had two posts. Yet it was so clear it was an alias account of a previous shit campaigner.

You could unignore the accounts? But what would be great is if everyone ignored them. They only bleat on about their garbage because they get reactions. Eventually it'd be a hollow void and they'd go back to Facebook.

I try to avoid getting into the round buying or having a round bought for me unless it's just a couple of the boys I'm with. I drink weird, limited availability craft beers and never the same one two beers in a row. Nightmare trying to communicate that to someone else or even to know what I want before I'm at the bar.

Also, these beers are not cheap. I don't want someone shelling big coin for my stupid tastes.

FKAFKASC?

Or you could just start unignoring people

How am i just realising the fact this new thread title is just the large dick erection.
Big
Meat
Up.
Or maybe its just the big dick club. Hopefully similar to the no homers' so we can have one, juat not plural.

I’m more understanding now of people not offering to buy rounds. It’s bloody expensive and I don’t know their full financial situation.

I’d normally limit myself to those directly around me at the time for the same reason. If they want to reciprocate, fantastic. If not, I’ll just wait for a supermodel or Russian ballet dancer to buy me one.

I'm a bit the same now, I'll offer to buy a round for the people around me if I'm getting up but I don't really expect it back and I don't offer the whole table. Especially now people have multiple kids etc, you don't know if people are doing it tough and buying a whole table a round can be $100-$150.

How was the trial hike?

Whole table, ****ing whole country footy clubs or supporters groups when you put the amex black down when they know what it is.

Has saved me some serious money at some country games through. Oh sorry we don't take amex. "sorry blokes they don't take amex" A local country footy club and they turn down a credit card with no limit.

I doubt throwing down an amex black card is something I'm going to have to worry too much about
