I found myself down at Freo today, and visited the Shipwreck Museum. Can recommend, for anyone looking to while away some time down that way. They have some really great artefacts, including a skeleton (not too sure if real, I didn't check, but seemed real) of a Batavia victim, and a portion of the hull of the Batavia itself (definitely real). Loads of other cool info regarding mainly Dutch history along our coast.

They've done a lot of work on the maritime museums down there. I'm going to an ancient monsters of the deep exhibition on Thursday night with the squids which should be good fun. Always make a bee line for the dirty immigrant lists to show them my grandparents and dad on the list. That Batavia hull rebuild is incredible - it's been there since we were in high school mate!

Did you enjoy Michael McIntyre? Did he do his bit about how Aussie Rules is basically the Chinese whispers of sports?

I hadn't been in there for about 30 years. Very impressed.

He did a bit about footy, but not Chinese whispers. I certainly enjoyed the night. Stand up is a funny one though, it doesn't lend itself to an arena style show. Intimate venues work better, mostly.

Ah right. His bit was that a guy from Australia went scouting international sports and came back but couldn't totally remember what he saw and that's how Aussie footy came about. Obviously the delivery was better but you get the gist.

Jimmy carr >>>>> michael McIntyre

Well, yeah.

TBH I only went as my wife asked me to and I've never heard of him before and it was decent. But his material is a little on the straight edge for me.
