More class building fitness and pressing for a spot in Chapman. If he can get fit and stay fit I think he could be in our best 5 players. And that is saying something!

in reality they all young ! LOL

Only 2.5 yrs difference from oldest to youngest across the whole competition

Average age?

The media is starting to realise that of all the young teams we are by far and away the best. They won't say it yet because they haqve victorian bias, but they will start to realise it over the course of the season.
based on the list of ages above. you will see obioulsy we are the best of the youngest only Hawthorn, West Coast and North Melbourne younger than us. So i hope everyone in victoria says we are best of the young ones.

Yep - it is us and GWS. And I think our best players are a lot younger on average than their best players.

We will be having some epic battles with GWS over the next decade. I can't wait.

That's for squads, teams are better indicator. Also, 2.5 years per player over 45 players is a lot.

I'm pretty sure this is just a revamped Positivity Thread?!?!?! However, I like it very much!!! A place to get all warm & cosy as we watch Flagmantle do its thang :whistle::freo:

If we keep this midfield group fit, then by mid next year it will be:

Hayden Young 100 games.
Luke Jackson 100 games
Caleb Serong 100 games.
Sean Darcy 120 games
Andy Brayshaw 150 games.
Nat Fyfe 250 games.

That is not a bunch of kids. That is a battle hardened midfield that any team would find difficult to stop.

And Johnson 50 ?

So 3 more games (when Flagmantle becomes a thing) then. Geez if Draper keeps his form up the team looks way better balance particularly once Cox is back in the team. Draper demanding selection would give us the option of bringing Cox back into the team as a genuine swingman. When Cox is forward the flow on effect would be that we could use Luke Jackson onball if we needed size in the centre square. In my opinion Young paired with Serong and Jackson with Darcy rucking is our best centre square combination.

"I've seen things you people wouldn't believe.....

Flagmantle attacking....off shoulder of Optus. I watched
Serong & co glitter in the dark
near the MCG gates.

All these moments....will never be lost in time.
Unlike

West Coast. Pretending....to play.....the game"

Love a nod to the best sci-fi movie of all!

Interesting perspective.

Lot of us have been pondering the need for the McDonald trade, particularly if Treacy develops into a true AFL second KPF.

Maybe we should also be considering the trade if Draper develops into a true KPD and your scenario above of Cox being legitimately considered as an option to play forward.

Good times.
