Interesting perspective.

Lot of us have been pondering the need for the McDonald trade, particularly if Treacy develops into a true AFL second KPF.

Maybe we should also be considering the trade if Draper develops into a true KPD and your scenario above of Cox being legitimately considered as an option to play forward.

Good times.
Interestingly Draper played nearly all his junior football as a forward. Obviously not this year but in a couple of years I could see both Cox and Draper being able to both switch forward and back. Here's a look at Draper's draft highlights showing some of his forward attributes.

His movement is good for any size not just a big. Similar to Jackson. He doesn't need the caveat 'for his size'. Exceptional prospect.

I reckon Aish should play the other wing. He's just a natural football player, fast enough, good overhead and breaks the lines.
We have so many other players that can play back.

I think they like his composure and how smart he is, especially considering who he plays against.

Very good with his positioning.

I'm pretty sure this is just a revamped Positivity Thread?!?!?! However, I like it very much!!! A place to get all warm & cosy as we watch Flagmantle do its thang :whistle::freo:

This thread is the place to be!

I named it the Optimism thread because positivity is more about now and optimism is now and the future.

When I think of our club there is a lot to be positive about now and a tonne to optimistic about in the months and years to come. What a time to be a Freo supporter! Here at the beginning of a dominant ten year run. 3 first rounders coming our way at the end of the year after making the eight.

All this and the beautiful weather in this stunning state. We are living in the best place in the world and supporting a team what will give the record books a shake over the next decade. What a time to be alive!

He has also had some dangerous runs forward and allows Clark to go forward. Gives a lot of help and instruction to Walker as well. I wouldn't mind locking him in the back half long term. Great that he has the flexibility to be effective in the middle or on the wing though.

I know mate, was said in jest. And in keeping within the spirit of fun!! The future looks so bright, even the sun is wearing shades watching Freo from above. And conversely, cooler than a polar bear in shades.........

We got some work to do but you can sniff it in the air, no doubt

in reality they all young ! LOL

Only 2.5 yrs difference from oldest to youngest across the whole competition

The surgery discovered that the injury wasn't as bad as expected. They expect he will be playing in the late part of the year. I assume that will be at Peel to start with, but it is good news for him and our depth.
I wish it was sooner (for both us and him), but at least we have had the luxury of not having to bring in injured players too soon.

Pretty crazy when you consider Cox, McDonald and Chapman are missing from the "best 22" and we've only conceded 180 points, the lowest tally in the league at present (very '2022'-like!). It's just the goals/points for tally that needs a boosting; that's probably the knock on the Dockers outsiders make - they don't score enough! Needs an adrenalin surge

McDonald isn't best 22, but yeah, shows that team defence is more important than who's in your back 6.

Our game wasn't shown on FTA in Melbourne and all media reports suggest it wasn't worth watching. Hopefully, the Carlton mob are complacent and doesn't know who they are up against (Clark, Young, and Sharp). They will be focused on Brayshaw, Serong, Fyfe and Amiss, but wont be prepared for Treacy. They wont see Fyfe as a threat.
