I'm not a big afficionado. But here's my Album suggestions.

Halestorm: The Strange Case of Mz Hyde (rock)
Eva Under Fire: Love Drugs & Misery (rock)
Fall Out Boy: Save Rock and Roll (rock) or for a more electric/new age sound, MANIA
All Time Low: Dirty Work or Future Hearts (pop/punk)
Set It Off: Duality (Cinematics is pretty good too) (pop/punk)
Falling In Reverse: (have only recently added them in, but are touring later in the year) Coming Home (pop/punk/metal)

Everyone's tastes are different, but I listen to a lot of Aerosmith, Queen, AC/DC and these bands seem to stick out as carrying on.

Halestorm just had a sold out tour with Disturbed.

Falling in Reverse & Set It Off just had sold out tours as well.

They're extremely popular, even if they're not in the "mainstream" view.

OMD sold out quickly as well, but can't see them playing at the GF

I saw the Millenium in with Shaky at (I think) Roath Park in Cardiff. It was the free gig - Manics and the Super Furries played the Millenium Stadium. Can't remember much to be fair, pretty heavy night.
